00:00Cole steps foot onto Camp Blue Lake for the first time in a whole year and soaks in the familiar pine smell.
00:07At school, Cole is a normal kid, but at camp, he's a hero.
00:11He's one of the bravest kids in his cabin group.
00:14Last year, he jumped into the lake from the tallest rock at the whole camp.
00:19As the oldest kids at camp, Cole and his friends claim their rightful place in the front row of the opening assembly.
00:26They're so busy chattering amongst themselves, they almost don't hear the camp director's warning about the lake.
00:32Due to reports of unusual biological activity, there will be no going in the lake this year.
00:38The boys are devastated.
00:40What is Camp Blue Lake without the lake?
00:42That night, Cole and his friends go to their new cabin for the first time, the oldest kids' cabin.
00:49As they walk in, Cole exchanges nervous looks with some of the other boys.
00:53They all remember the oldest kids last year talking about hearing strange noises in this cabin and waking up to the floor soaking wet with freezing water.
01:03One boy reminds them all that the oldest kids last year probably made up those stories to scare them.
01:09They shouldn't be babies and fall for it.
01:12The group all agrees.
01:14But then, their eyes land on the creaky bed all the way at the back of the cabin, closest to the lake and the drippy old bathroom.
01:22Drip, drip, drip.
01:25No one wants to admit they don't want to sleep there.
01:29Cole breaks the silence and confidently declares that he'll take the creaky old bed.
01:34Because he's not a baby.
01:37Cole's friends look at him with awe.
01:39He takes it a step further.
01:41He announces that tomorrow he's going to sneak off and go in the lake.
01:45He's not scared and the camp director can't tell him what to do.
01:49The boys all cheer.
01:51Cole will go down in camp history for this.
01:53But after lights out, everything changes.
01:57Cole doesn't feel so brave anymore.
01:59It's completely dark and totally silent.
02:02Except for the dripping from the bathroom.
02:05Drip, drip, drip.
02:08Soon, Cole can tell he's the only one still awake.
02:12He peeks outside at the lake and sees a little ripple in the water.
02:16It fills him with fear.
02:18Cole reassures himself that whatever is going on in the lake can't get him in the warm cabin.
02:23The next day, every time the boys ask Cole about sneaking into the lake,
02:27Cole makes up an excuse to push it off.
02:29But the truth is that even just a glance at the lake fills Cole with the same fear from the night before.
02:36Right before dinner, the boys confront him.
02:38Is he going to go in the lake or not?
02:41Cole shakes his head.
02:42He's too scared.
02:44He doesn't even care about going down in camp history anymore.
02:47One boy calls Cole a chicken.
02:49Then everyone joins in, dancing around him and making clucking sounds.
02:54That night, Cole lays in his creaky old bed, annoyed that he was made fun of.
02:59But he still had an uneasy feeling about the dripping sound coming from the bathroom.
03:04Drip, drip, drip.
03:07Finally, he falls asleep.
03:10Splash!
03:11The sound wakes Cole up.
03:13He touches his face.
03:14It's wet.
03:16He hears the splashing again.
03:17It sounds like it's coming from inside.
03:20He timidly peeks into the bathroom and catches a glimpse of something green and shiny,
03:25almost like a tail sliding into the shower drain.
03:29Cole is frozen.
03:30He could scream, but the other boys would never let him live down being terrified of a bathroom.
03:36He'd never be seen as Brave Camp Cole again.
03:40Instead, Cole curls back up in bed, puts his pillow over his head, and falls back asleep.
03:46Splash!
03:47But this time, much louder.
03:49Cole's eyes shoot open.
03:51It's too late.
03:53He's face to face with a long green creature.
03:55Not quite a snake, but not quite an eel.
03:58It's longer than his whole bed.
04:00Before he can scream, it grabs Cole and silently drags him down into the shower drain,
04:06through the sewer, and out into the pitch black lake.
04:09Never to feel dry land again.
04:13Cole will go down in Camp History after all.
