Cody Rock and the Quest for MacGuvitonium revolves around Cody, a lonely twelve-year old boy who comes across an alien boy from the far off planet of Nee'La. He affectionately names the alien boy Arbie, who owns an amazing device called the GIZMO. Cody soon discovers that the GIZMO not only allows his new friend to gather data, but also gives Arbie superhuman abilities. The two boys soon become fast friends. He learns that Arbie was sent to look for MacGuvitonium, a rare mineral that is the difference between life and death for Arbie's people, the Zeeda. However, to make matters worse, a bounty hunter, Pyriss, has been sent by the Malzoids, the cruel rulers oppressing the Zeeda, to eliminate Arbie and reclaim the GIZMO.
