Rescue operations are underway after heavy rain triggered landslides in southern India, killing at least 93 people.

Landslides caused havoc in Kerala's Wayanad district with dozens of people feared to be trapped under the debris.

Thousands of residents were also evacuated to relief camps.

Video filmed on Tuesday, July 29 shows a wrecked car stuck in the middle of rapidly flowing muddy waters with several trees torn down next to it.

Roads and buildings in the area were left either damaged or completely destroyed.

Hospitals across the state including those in Vaithiri, Meppadi and Mananthavady have been put on high alert.
