Transcript
00:00Twenty-two Senators voted in the House of Representatives to amend Republic Act No. 11235, also known as the Double Placa Law, under Senate Bill 2555.
00:14This is a fair and reasonable regulation for motorcycle riders to ensure their safety and security, as well as those on the road.
00:25Thank all of you for amending the seemingly discriminatory Motorcycle Crime Prevention Act.
00:33That our beloved riders constitute a vital part of that which we call the public.
00:41The implementation of this bill will give confidence to our motorists.
00:51Sen. J.V. Ejercito also acknowledged the contributions of the riders, especially during the pandemic, which they were expected.
00:59There is nothing wrong with the offender committing a crime, but it is also unquestionable if this will affect the entire sector of society of citizens who will be affected by this in the coming years.
01:11Under the bill, the requirement of a plaque in front of a motorcycle will be removed, but a Radio Frequency Identification System or RFID sticker will be added to facilitate the dissemination of information on motorcycles.
01:25For now, before the bill is passed, it needs to be ratified by the Congress and approved by the President.
