00:24From there, fellow countrymen, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. formed an inter-agency task force to quickly address the possible effects of this oil spill from a motor tanker called Terra Nova that hit the town of Limay, Bataan in the aftermath of Hurricane Karina and Habagat last Thursday.
00:46The task force is led by the Office of the Civil Defense or OCD, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippine Coast Guard, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
01:00DOH, DOLE, and DSWD are also included in the task force. The President wants the actions of each agency to be systematic and well-coordinated to ensure the correct direction of addressing the oil spill.
01:16The President ordered the DENR to assist the Department of Health in assessing the quality of water and air in the affected area. The DOH should assess the health of the residents affected by this oil spill.
01:35In addition, the Department of Labor and Employment or DOLE was ordered to implement programs for the residents affected, as well as the DSWD, to assist the victims.
01:49The President also said that he needs to assist non-government organizations to address the problem, as well as local government units, because this oil spill is very serious and can affect many sectors.
02:05So, the government agencies should help each other to address this oil spill.
02:35Our President, Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., assured that our countrymen were saved. 17 Philippine seafarers were rescued in Yemen from the last Israeli attack against the group.
02:58Through his post on his ex-account, the President said that he was happy to report that our seafarers were not affected and were in the custody of the Houthis.
03:11The news was reported by the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh. The President assured the seafarers that they will not be neglected by the government. He is doing everything he can to ensure the safety of our countrymen in the Philippines.
03:28Almost a month ago, 17 Philippine seafarers were hostaged by the rebelling Houthis from Yemen. Their cargo ships were hijacked in Red Sea last November.
03:43We can see that the government, through the Department of Foreign Affairs, is helping the foreign governments to ensure the release of 17 Filipina seafarers.
03:59Of course, we pray that this conflict in the Middle East will be resolved so that no one will be left alive because of this conflict.
04:06And we pray that these 17 Filipina seafarers will be able to return to the Philippines safely to their families.
