00:00An engineer was one of the two who were found dead after the barge and tugboat hit the F. Manalo Bridge in Marikina River.

00:08EJ Gomez's first-hand news of the retrieval operation is exclusive.

00:16In this video, the authorities saw the retrieval of a man's body from the river.

00:24This is a retrieval operation of the Pasig City BFP Marine Fire Search and Rescue Unit

00:29together with the Pasig City Police in MRR Street, Barangay Pineda in Pasig City this week.

00:36According to the police, the victim is one of those who were not saved in the barge incident

00:42during the storm that hit the barge and tugboat and hit the F. Manalo Bridge.

00:48I am connecting this incident to the incident that happened here at the F. Manalo Bridge.

00:54According to his wife, our victim, his companions helped him during the storm.

01:05He was with the victim.

01:08The victim's wife confirmed to the police that she met the man in the river.

01:15Their family found out that the body of the victim was found in the river

01:22by his wife because she saw the tattoo on his left hand

01:26and the amulet that was found in his left hand.

01:33According to the Pasig City BFP Marine Fire Search and Rescue Unit,

01:38a boatman was the first to see the victim's body floating in the river

01:43that was reported to the Pasig Command Center.

01:46When we arrived at the scene, we were with the PNP.

01:50We saw the victim lying down.

01:53We noticed that the victim was tied up.

01:57The boatman tied him up in the middle so that he won't be able to swim.

02:02Based on the initial investigation,

02:04the victim works as a second engineer in a marine shipping company.

02:09He lives in Cuyo, Palawan and left Manila to look for a job.

02:14GMA Integrated News is trying to find out who the victim's father is.

02:19The victim was the second to be confirmed dead in the barge incident

02:25during the Havagat and Baguio floods last week.
