00:00This is a really historic moment with Biden, President Joe Biden stepping aside.

00:04This is a rarity that we have not seen in recent politics.

00:08What do you think led to the decision, his sudden decision

00:11to drop out of the race after initially being so committed to seeing it through?

00:16I think that President Biden's strongest commitment is to democracy

00:20and to the United States.

00:22He has devoted 54 plus years of his life to

00:26to engaging in politics, policy and diplomacy.

00:29He is a freedom fighter and he is someone who understood what's at stake.

00:34I think that he's someone who also chose a vice president

00:37who he knew could finish the job.

00:40The president has worked tirelessly for this country.

00:43And we know that in his first term, he was able to get more done

00:46than most presidents who served, too.

00:47He was able to get more done in the first term than any other president,

00:51with the exception of FDR, when he brought us back from the Great Depression.

00:54So I think that President Biden, with a heavy heart,

00:57decided that it was time to pass the torch.

01:00And that decision was not made lightly, was not made easily.

01:03And it was one that was completely selfless.
