00:00the news has been dominated by something big and I thought it was better to give you a complete
00:03breakdown of what's happened so that you're more aware of the facts. So let's talk about the
00:08situation at Manchester Airport. On Tuesday night Greater Manchester Police were involved in a
00:12scuffle at Manchester Airport with early reports of the event focusing on what seemed to be
00:16excessive violence from the officers. Videos from the incident show one of the police officers
00:20stamping on and kicking the head of a man who was restrained on the floor. The footage sparks
00:25protests outside of a police station in Rochdale with the GMP being accused of institutional
00:30racism. Over the weekend new footage emerged which showed that the man who'd been stamped on
00:34was involved in a fight with officers which saw three officers taken to hospital one of them with
00:38a broken nose. There have been arguments from some politicians that the police officer was defending
00:43himself and his colleagues while some continue to argue that there's no situation in which police
00:48officers should commit that sort of violence against a neutralised threat. There's now an
00:52investigation going on to properly discover the facts so we'll keep you updated as we get
00:55more information. I've been Theo with Manchester World, follow us for more.
