How supermarket price rises have impacted your weekly shop
With some price rises of up to 50% being noticed on supermarket shelves, the cost of living has had a huge impact on people all over England. We asked people in Manchester if they’d been forced to alter their shop to stay afloat.

00:04people about the cost of living. We want to know if people have had to stop
00:07buying things or cut down on some of their favourite luxuries just to keep
00:10themselves afloat. Because I went in there because I was going to pick up some hot
00:13food but for all like the little boxes they're way more expensive than they
00:17used to be. I used to grab like a pack of wedgies for like a quid or something
00:20like that and I think it was like £2.50 in there. And I just tried to buy
00:23smart now so I still like my brands, I still like my certain things but if I
00:26were to buy full price I'll kind of find what I want and then just find it at the
00:30cheapest price I can. Yeah they've switched to Aldi more because it's like
00:35obviously like the most affordable option. We're a family of six as
00:39well. We're big eaters as well. We tend to try and aim for like Lidl and
00:43Aldi because it is just a bit cheaper and a bit better but yeah it's been a
00:47bit of a stretch the last couple years I'll tell you that. I mean I shop at Aldi
00:53anyway so like when we have our takeaways it's like once a month so it's
00:56kind of fine. I'm 28 I still want to live you know.
