00:00Last stop for another exciting adventure in outer space with Scott McCloud, Space Angel,
00:20and the story of The Fugitives.
00:49Major, we have a patrol ship overdue.
00:57He was on routine patrol between here and Uranus.
01:00Just a minute, O'Hara.
01:01I'll put you through to the chief.
01:03What's that?
01:05You mean he doesn't respond to his call signal?
01:07That's right, chief.
01:08Not a peep.
01:09He was on a routine patrol in sector three.
01:12We received no mayday.
01:13The Starduster's in that area.
01:15I'll have Scott check it out.
01:16Right, chief.
01:17Thank you.
01:19Major, get me the Starduster.
01:21Yes, sir.
01:27Right, chief.
01:28We could be in that area in ten units.
01:31Good.
01:32Get back to me as soon as you make contact.
01:34Hope that ship wasn't hit by a stray meteor.
01:37Could be, Taurus.
01:39We'll soon find out.
01:49Area destination coming up, Taurus.
01:51Got anything?
01:52I've picked up something.
01:55It looks like Space Force, all right.
01:57High at one o'clock.
01:59Right.
02:00Correcting attitude, 15 degrees.
02:14It's a Space Force ship, all right.
02:16I'm going like the devil.
02:18Switch on your forward view scope, Skipper.
02:20That's our missing ship, all right.
02:23I'll see if I can contact it.
02:25Space Force, Neptune, 4-1.
02:28This is the Starduster.
02:29Come in, please.
02:32No answer.
02:33Radio must be out.
02:35We'll pull alongside.
02:42Space Force, 4-1.
02:45This is the Starduster.
02:47If you hear me, flash your signal lights.
02:57They've blasted us.
02:59Quick, get your space helmet on.
03:05Taurus, are you...
03:07Oh, no.
03:15Evening, Star.
03:16This is Earth Control.
03:17Come in, please.
03:18Evening, Star here.
03:19Come in, Chief.
03:20Mace, have you had any word from the Starduster?
03:23Not since his last report to you that he'd sighted the missing ship and was closing in on her.
03:27Why the devil doesn't Scott report in?
03:29Let me know if you hear anything.
03:31Well, I'm sure they'll be reporting in soon.
03:33I hope so.
03:34Earth Control, out.
03:36Evening, Star, out.
03:38That should hold you till I can get you back to the Evening Star.
03:41They've blasted us.
03:43Why, Skipper?
03:44Why?
03:45I don't know, Taurus.
03:47We'll find out later.
03:49Right now, just lie still.
03:52I'll see if I can get us underway.
03:54Did you tell the Chief about the ship, lad?
03:57Can't, Taurus.
03:58Communicator's out.
04:00Emergency radio's out.
04:02What about the Starduster?
04:04Communicator's out.
04:05Emergency radio's out.
04:07Output power?
04:08We have A.B. power.
04:10Retros are knocked out.
04:12Four-turn jet's out.
04:15Stabilizing jet's out.
04:17But we'll get back.
04:19Just hang on, Taurus.
04:27Without retro rockets, I don't know how we're going to stop.
04:31But we're headed for home.
04:35
04:41How will Scott land the Starduster, even if he can get back to the Evening Star?
04:45Don't miss the next exciting episode of Space Angels.
04:50
04:55
05:07Last stop for another exciting adventure in outer space with Scott McCloud,
05:12Space Angel, in the story of The Fugitives.
05:18Last time, the Chief of Space Force ordered Scott and Taurus
05:21to investigate the disappearance of a patrol ship.
05:24Scott located the ship, but when he tried to make contact,
05:27the patrol ship blasted the Starduster,
05:29leaving the craft practically helpless and Taurus injured.
05:33The Starduster turned and limped for home base.
05:36
05:42Starduster, this is Evening Star. Come in, please.
05:47Hmm, still no answer.
05:49I don't understand it.
05:51Dad, I'm worried. Something must be wrong.
05:53Chris, we've got a blip. There's a ship coming this way.
05:56It could be the Starduster.
05:58Oh, I hope so.
06:05It won't be long now, Taurus.
06:07Don't worry about me, Skipper. I'll make it.
06:10We must be getting pretty close now.
06:12I guess I'd better turn her a little so I can see where we're going.
06:16Viewers ought to. Luckily, we can still control attitude.
06:20
06:30There she is, Taurus. We'll have you in sick bay in a few minutes now.
06:34Aye. Me, you, and the Starduster.
06:38Unless you've got a way of stopping without retro rockets.
06:41I'll have to cartwheel the ship, Taurus, and brake with the main power.
06:45It might work at that.
06:47It better.
06:52Crystal, look out there. It is the Starduster.
06:56Something's wrong, Dad. Their approach is way out of line.
06:59They must be out of control.
07:03They're falling, Taurus.
07:05I'll have the emergency crew stand by.
07:08Attention all personnel. Condition red. Collision imminent.
07:12Secure all hatches. Stand by emergency pressure systems.
07:17Emergency crews, man your stations.
07:20
07:28Here goes, Taurus. Hang on. It might be a little uncomfortable.
07:32Don't worry about me, lad.
07:34Here goes nothing.
07:36
07:55Good heavens. That was quite a maneuver.
07:58Dad, the ship is badly damaged.
08:00Oh, I hope the boys are all right.
08:02
08:06Launch control, get a tug out there.
08:09Starduster's control systems are out.
08:11Yes, sir.
08:13
08:21Dad, look at the blinker signal.
08:23Taurus, perch.
08:26Stand by medic.
08:29
08:43How is he, Doctor?
08:44Will he be all right?
08:45Yes, he'll pull through, but that blast would have killed an ordinary man.
08:49Taurus is no ordinary man.
08:52It was worth getting blasted to get a kind word out of you.
08:57Oh, Taurus, you're wonderful.
08:59Did you find out who blasted us, Skipper?
09:02Not yet, Taurus, but now that I know you're okay, I'll get right on it.
09:08Don't plan on going anywhere without me.
09:11You're not going anywhere for a while, big boy.
09:14Chief, thought you'd want to know Taurus will be okay.
09:18That's good news, Scott.
09:20Any word on the ship that blasted us?
09:22Nothing yet. O'Hara is searching the area where you were hit.
09:25Chief, tell O'Hara to...
09:27Hang on, Scott. Go ahead, Major.
09:29Maybe O'Hara's got something.
09:31Scott, that was a Mayday call.
09:33The orbital fueling station at Jupiter was just attacked by the missing Space Force ship.
09:37It was piloted by a tall, thin woman and some kind of general.
09:41Sound familiar to you?
09:43Sure does, Chief. Queen Zora.
09:46The evil Queen Zora and her henchman, the General.
09:49Will Scott be able to locate them and their stolen ship?
09:52Don't miss the next exciting episode of Space Angels.
10:12Last stop for another exciting adventure in outer space with Scott McCloud.
10:17Space Angels in the story of The Fugitives.
10:23Last time, Scott and Taurus were blasted by a patrol ship they were sent to find.
10:28Taurus was injured by the blast.
10:30With almost all controls out, Scott maneuvered the great ship to a safe landing on the evening star
10:35where the doctors assured Scott and Crystal that Taurus would be all right.
10:40I'm afraid it's Zora all right, Scott.
10:42And whatever her evil scheme is, we've got to stop her.
10:45How soon will the Stardust be operational?
10:47It's under repair now, Chief.
10:49Should be ready by 0600.
10:52Good. Be ready for blast-off at that time.
10:55I want you to handle this operation.
10:57It'll be a pleasure, Chief.
10:59I'll be needing a Space Force squadron.
11:02Take the whole Space Force if you need them, but track down that Queen.
11:06I want her alive.
11:08You'll get her, Chief.
11:10Out here. Chris, contact O'Hara to scramble his squadron
11:15and rendezvous at Jupiter fueling station at six space periods.
11:19Right, Scott.
11:20Launch control, ready Starduster for extended flight.
11:25And prepare for pre-flight check.
11:29Starduster, this is launch control.
11:31You're clear to blast off in five space units.
11:34Are you ready for countdown?
11:36Negative, launch control. All flight personnel not accounted for.
11:39Donovan was taking Taurus' place. He should be aboard.
11:43Well, he was right behind us. I wonder what's keeping him.
11:49He won't be here. We decided I would go instead.
11:53Taurus, what are you doing here?
11:55You need rest. You're not strong enough for a mission.
11:58It don't take much strength to push a trigger button.
12:02Okay, you old space goat.
12:05Launch control, this is Starduster. Crew complete. Ready for countdown.
12:09Roger, Starduster. Ready and counting.
12:25Starduster, this is Space Force Neptune. Come in, please.
12:29O'Hara on channel 3-7.
12:31Right. Space Force Neptune, this is the Starduster. Go ahead, O'Hara.
12:35Well, Scott, we found the crow from the hijacked ship.
12:38It was Queen Zara, right? Our ship found them in a capsule.
12:42When they stopped to pick her up, she and the general took over the ship
12:45and left our Space Force boys adrift.
12:48I think I know where she's headed, O'Hara.
12:51From the point where she hit us to the refueling station,
12:55is in direct line with the asteroid belt.
12:58Right. She's probably hiding out in one of the asteroids
13:01so that our radar can't pick her up.
13:03When you get there, split the squadron and search the asteroid belt.
13:08We'll join you there in two space brigades.
13:10Right, Scott. Will do.
13:16Listen, General. It's the Space Force captain.
13:19O'Hara to squadron. Change course, far seven degrees.
13:24We're going to search the asteroid belt.
13:26Sooner or later, they will find us here.
13:28We can't take off, Your Highness. They'd shoot us down on sight.
13:32They will be looking for ship number 41.
13:35You will change our number.
13:37Even so, Your Highness, we will not have much of a head start.
13:41Flying alone ahead of them, they will follow us.
13:44We will not run, General.
13:47We will wait for the Space Force to split up and start the search.
13:52Then join them.
13:54Just another Space Force ship searching for ourselves.
14:00Yes. Now change that number.
14:06O'Hara to squadron. Asteroid belt coming up.
14:10Split up and hunt them out, lads.
14:19They are coming, my General.
14:21It is time for the Fox to become a hound.
14:24They will not be looking for Space Force ship number 39.
14:45The fools do not suspect us.
14:48And that is fortunate for them.
14:50I have the guns trained on them, just in case.
14:55One false move and the Queen will blast them from the skies.
14:59Will her scheme succeed?
15:01Don't miss the next exciting episode of Space Angels.
15:19Blast off for another exciting adventure in outer space
15:23with Scott McCloud, Space Angel, in the story of The Fugitives.
15:30Last time, Scott, Crystal and Taurus took off in the Starduster.
15:34They were headed for an asteroid belt
15:36where Queen Zora and the General were hiding
15:38aboard the stolen Space Force ship.
15:41When the Queen heard that the Space Force squadron
15:43was to join the Starduster in the search for her,
15:46she changed the number on her stolen ship to number 39
15:49and then joined the squadron.
15:52We will stay on this course until we reach the large asteroid Ceres.
15:57Then we will go behind it and change course for our home base.
16:02Very clever.
16:04With Ceres for our shield,
16:06they will not see us until we have a good head start.
16:09And since we have destroyed the Space Force fueling station,
16:13they cannot follow us very far.
16:22How is squadron just ahead, Skipper?
16:24Starduster to Space Force Neptune.
16:27We're coming in at six o'clock high.
16:30Glad you're here, Scott.
16:32Seen any signs of anything yet?
16:34Not a sign, Skipper.
16:36She could be hiding out on one of the bigger asteroids.
16:38Eros and Ceres are coming up.
16:41Your Highness, that's the Space Angel ship.
16:44I thought we knocked him out.
16:46Do not panic, my General.
16:48I have the guns trained on him.
16:50I could destroy him once and for all.
16:53No, no, Your Highness.
16:55I will not shoot, General, unless, of course,
16:58the Space Angel sees through our disguise.
17:02Skipper.
17:04Skipper.
17:06Skipper.
17:08I'm sorry, guys.
17:10Scott, the radar is useless in this asteroid belt.
17:13I know, Crystal.
17:15They've got to depend on visual contact.
17:17Hey, Skipper, something's wrong.
17:19What is it, Torres?
17:21We've got two Space Force ships with the number 39.
17:24One on either side of us.
17:2639 to port, 39 to starboard.
17:29Uh-oh.
17:31That Queen Zara's pretty sharp.
17:33Who'd ever look for her flying with the squadron?
17:36That's a bad choice of numbers.
17:38We'd better warn O'Hara.
17:40Can't do that, Chris.
17:42She's probably tuned in on the Space Force channel.
17:44What do we do, Skipper?
17:46I just can't blast both 39s.
17:48We'll let her make the first move.
17:50She's trying to get away,
17:52probably waiting to change course
17:54using one of the big asteroids as a radar shield.
17:56Scott, O'Hara on channel 37.
17:58Right, Chris.
18:00O'Hara to squadron.
18:02That group of large asteroids ahead
18:04will have to locate them before long.
18:06We haven't much fuel left.
18:08Split up now and good hunting.
18:10I will increase speed, Hyman.
18:12No, not yet, General.
18:14Uh-oh.
18:16Number 39 on the port side is increasing power.
18:20And he's going behind the big asteroid.
18:22So's the one on the starboard side, Torres.
18:27What do you think, Torres? Which one?
18:29I'd say port side.
18:31He's almost at full power.
18:33Right. Guess it's time to make our move.
18:35Stand by space cannon.
18:39They have all gone on the other side, General.
18:42Now you may change course
18:44and head for the base under full power.
18:50We'll meet that ship as it comes out
18:52on the other end of the asteroid.
18:54Keep him covered, Torres.
18:56I'm going to call him for identification.
18:58But, Scott, if it is the Queen's ship,
19:00they'll blast us first.
19:02I'm afraid we'll have to take that chance.
19:04We can't follow both ships.
19:06Aye, Skipper. It's coming out now.
19:11They're in my sights.
19:13And the crew had better be Space Force.
19:16Start us to Space Force 39.
19:19Come in, 39.
19:2139 here. Lieutenant Brown speaking.
19:24What's your position, Lieutenant?
19:26Right off your port side, sir.
19:28Thanks, Lieutenant.
19:30I'll be right there on my port side.
19:32Phew, what a relief.
19:34Crystal, switch me to channel 231.
19:38What's up, Scott?
19:40Scramble the pack, O'Hara.
19:42Our Fox is on the other side of Ceres.
19:44They've changed the number to 39.
19:46And don't mistake Lieutenant Brown's ship for the Queen.
19:49He's riding my port side.
19:53Squadron, assemble.
19:55Target is Space Force ship 39
19:57on the other side of Ceres.
19:59They are wise to us, Majesty.
20:01Their wisdom comes a little late.
20:04They cannot catch us now.
20:06Their limited fuel supply will not allow them
20:09to pursue us very far.
20:11Has the evil Queen outsmarted the Space Force?
20:14Will she go free to destroy again?
20:16Don't miss the next exciting episode of Space Angels.
20:29Space Angels
20:35Last stop for another exciting adventure in outer space
20:38with Scott McCloud, Space Angel,
20:41in the story of The Fugitives.
20:46Last time, Queen Zora and the General
20:48aboard the stolen Space Force ship number 39
20:51joined the squadron, flying right next to the Starduster.
20:54Taurus discovered that there were two ships
20:56with the number 39.
20:58By the time Scott knew which one was the Queen's ship,
21:00she had gone behind the asteroid called Ceres.
21:03The Space Force followed,
21:05but they were low on fuel supply.
21:07No sign of them, O'Hara.
21:08They must have changed course
21:10as soon as they disappeared behind Ceres.
21:12Got anything on radar, Chris?
21:13Yes, four astroleagues out and moving fast.
21:16Trajectory two points off vector five.
21:18Must be headed for Uranus.
21:20We'll go after them.
21:21The squadron will have to return for fuel, Scott.
21:24We'll join up with you in 20 units.
21:26Right, O'Hara.
21:29You see, General?
21:31They are turning back.
21:33But the Space Angel has fuel.
21:35He will be coming after us.
21:37Fine.
21:38We will call our base and arrange a reception
21:40for the Space Angel.
21:42Say, six or eight fighters?
21:48We're still closing on her.
21:50She must know we're gaining on her.
21:52Sooner or later, she's got to fight.
21:54No doubt she has a plan.
21:56I'd sure like to know what it is.
21:58Scott, if she's using her communicator,
22:01I could probably pick her up.
22:03Good idea, Chris.
22:04Give it a try.
22:05Well, there's nothing on the low end.
22:07I'll scan the higher frequencies.
22:09That's it.
22:11Channel four four.
22:13I will lead the Starduster close to the base.
22:16Your squadron will pursue and destroy the Space Angel.
22:20Well, well.
22:22An ambush.
22:24Her base must be on one of the moons of Uranus.
22:27She's on a beeline for the third moon.
22:29What's the plan, Skipper?
22:31I'll take the dark and go after the Queen.
22:33You decoy our fighters away toward O'Hara's squadron.
22:49It won't be long now.
22:51Keep a sharp eye.
22:53Here they come now, Taurus.
22:57Six fighters coming up fast.
22:59Ah-ha!
23:00We'll lead them a merry chase.
23:16So, the brave Space Angel is running away.
23:20After him, you fools.
23:23Taurus, Space Force coming in fast.
23:26Just ahead and below.
23:28Space Force, this is the Starduster.
23:31What's the matter, Taurus?
23:33Can't you get along without me for a few minutes?
23:36Sure can, but since you seem to have so much trouble finding a target,
23:40I thought I'd bring you a few.
23:42Wow, I'll say you did.
23:44Come on, rise up.
23:52Ah!
23:57Good work, O'Hara.
23:59Swing back and pick up survivors.
24:01I'll go back and see if I can help the Skipper.
24:06Now I'll take advantage of the one weak spot in a Space Force fighter.
24:10The blind spot, right under the tail.
24:17Now, I'll let her know I'm here.
24:21Queen Zahra.
24:23This is the Space Angel.
24:25You will eject, or I'll blow you out of there.
24:28The Space Angel?
24:30Where are you?
24:31Yes, yes, Space Angel.
24:33We will do as you say.
24:35No, do not be fooled, General.
24:38He is bluffing.
24:39He is nowhere near us.
24:41All right, let's do it the hard way.
24:51Star Duster, this is the Doc.
24:53Come in, please.
24:54Taurus here.
24:55We're on the way back.
24:57Did you get the Queen and the General?
24:59Sure did.
25:00They're all packaged and waiting for pickup.
25:03Just like two peas in a pod.
25:07And so ends the story of The Fugitives.
25:11Don't miss the next exciting adventure in outer space with Scott McClure.
25:15Space Angel.
