00:00The name of this area is Thoorpukanamalu.
00:05It is a place of high mountains, hills and wildlife.
00:08Many half-living animals, birds and reptiles are not found here.
00:12Half-living species of snakes can be seen here.
00:15However, some of them have entered into some remote areas.
00:18The most important among them is King Cobra.
00:21This poisonous snake, which is more than 10 feet long, is locally known as Girinagu.
00:26The number of these snakes has been decreasing for a few days
00:30due to the killings of the Girinagu people and the death of the Girinagu people.
00:36The Eastern Ghats Wild Society has come forward to save this half-living species.
00:41It has taken a lot of effort to save this species by protecting its eggs.
00:45It is protecting the eggs in a scientific manner with the permission of the government.

01:02King Cobra is found in the Eastern Ghats Wild Society in Alluri district.
01:06The Society representatives who received the news from Girinagu
01:09went and visited the place.
01:11They noticed that the King Cobra was laying eggs in the nearby Atavi region.
01:15After the female Cobra went out,
01:17the laid eggs were not allowed to come out of the nest.
01:20So, they made arrangements to protect the eggs.
01:22They protected the eggs from Atavi animals.
01:24Girinagu people are very ecologically important.
01:27They feed the insects in the environment.
01:30Girinagu people eat other snakes.
01:33They eat snakes such as Nagu snake, Raktapinjara, Chinnapinjara, Katlapamu,
01:38Jerrypothu, Jerrygoddu, and Rat snake.
01:41They eat these species and support the administration of these species.
01:46So, we get a lot of benefits from the presence of Girinagu people.
01:52Girinagu is the only snake in the world that lays eggs.
01:55Girinagu people sit on the eggs for a month or two.
02:01When the eggs hatch, the female King Cobra goes out.
02:07The female King Cobra goes out because she gets weak.
02:10She has to eat food.
02:12We have to protect the eggs at that time.
02:15Otherwise, we will have other predators.
02:18We can eat jackals, wild boars, wild pigs, and camels.
02:25So, we build a fence to protect these animals.
02:29Atavi government and NGO government are conducting a survey.
02:33To protect Girinagu, we need to build a conservation reserve.
