00:00I believe last season we visit Deep Space Nine.

00:06And it was so funny to watch Mike and the writers say like,
00:09okay, you're pulling up, what's something you could say?
00:12And Mike just brought it out and say,
00:13man, like for my character,
00:14man, that is one ugly space station.
00:18It's just so funny.
00:22You're always looking for something to mine
00:24when you're looking for jokes and stuff.
00:26And we have thousands of hours of television to mine.
00:31Yeah, and the world of Star Trek is real
00:33for the characters that inhabit this show.
00:34And so they're telling jokes in a way
00:36that they're as familiar with these locations
00:38from other series as much as Tonya and I are
00:41because we've watched them, they've lived them.
00:43And it's almost like we both used to work at Second City,
00:46not together, weirdly, but at different times.
00:48Weirdly not together.
00:51But when they would make like a local Chicago joke
00:53and it would get a great response from the crowd,
00:55that's like when we're making a Deep Space Nine joke
00:57for our characters on the show.
00:59And there's just no other franchise you can do this with
01:02because nothing else has 800,
01:04maybe Marvel a little bit, kind of,
01:05but like, you know, it's a really cool world
01:09to get to tell jokes in and write characters for.
