00:00Computer Science videos here today to show you guys in this tutorial how to
00:05transfer a folder from a USB flash drive to a Mac computer using terminal and
00:10terminal commands. Without further ado let us start the video. So in this
00:15tutorial you need to have access to a Mac computer to be able to use terminal
00:20transfer the file using the terminal commands as well as have access to a
00:24USB so we can now start the tutorial. Let's now go all the way down to the dock
00:27go to finder now insert the USB flash drive which can have a capacity of 1, 2,
00:344 all the way up to 1 terabyte. However for this tutorial we are not really
00:39worried about the capacity as the file the folder we are working with is less
00:46than let's say 5 MB so we're good to go. Let's insert now into the Mac
00:51computer and so that's the USB flash drive inserted we can see on screen
00:58let's navigate to locations Kingston and we will be transferring the folder CSV
01:07from where it is now in the USB Kingston flash drive to the desktop. Let's minimize
01:15finder for the moment now let's go all the way down to the dock go to launchpad
01:22search for terminal. Let's now increase the size of the terminal window. Increase
01:30the text size using command plus a couple of times. Let's clear everything
01:34on screen. Before we continue let's now go all the way down to the dock go back
01:39to finder. Decrease the size of the finder window and now move this to the
01:47bottom right corner of the screen. Let's now view everything in real time so we
01:54can see what is happening when it comes to the folder jumping from the Kingston
01:58USB to the desktop. So let's navigate to the desktop using the command cd desktop
02:08tab semicolon ls minus L to change directory and view everything on the
02:16desktop. Let's now move into volumes and Kingston cd slash v tab volumes capital
02:29K tab Kingston semicolon ls minus L and now the command to move the CSV folder
02:38from the Kingston USB flash drive to the desktop is mv to move cs tab v slash
02:55option n tilde slash desktop tab enter and there the folder CSV has moved from
03:08the Kingston USB to the desktop. So let's now quit finder for the moment.
03:15Let's clear everything on screen. Let's now change directory. Quit terminal.
03:24Right-click on the Kingston USB to eject. So that's with this video. I'll see you
03:35guys in my next tutorial. Thanks for now. Thank you for making it towards the end
03:40of the video. Be sure to subscribe to my channel Computer Science Videos. Be sure
