00:00Abang Johari Openg's statement was arrogant.
00:05This is what four-term pending Assemblywoman Violet Yong had to say after the Sarawak Premier's
00:10joke that DAP and PKR do not exist in the state due to Gabungan Party Sarawak's dominance.
00:17Yong said the GPS chairman's statement disrespected the democratic rights of Sarawakians who voted
00:22for DAP and PKR in the past.
00:25Yong, one of only two DAP Assemblymen in Sarawak, also slammed the ruling GPS state
00:30government for not allocating funds for rural transformation and minor rural projects to
00:35opposition representatives.
00:37Meanwhile, Sarawak PKR leader Abun Sui Aniet said he appreciated Abang Johari's statement
00:43and personally viewed it as a challenge to prove the Parti Persakab Miputra Bersatu president
00:48wrong.
00:50The senator said he understood that Abang Johari, as GPS chairman, needs to make such
00:54statements for public consumption to gain political merit.
00:58Whether that is true or not, it is up to the people of Sarawak to assess, he said.
