00:00Well, talk about, you know, taking on Iconic.
00:02Something that is so incredible about the Alien franchise
00:05is obviously how it puts women and female characters
00:08at the forefront.
00:09So Kaylee and Isabella, to you, what
00:11was it like to kind of carry on that mantle?
00:15I think what Sigourney did, she really properly paved the way
00:21and sort of made a conscious decision to, you know,
00:24whatever it means to be a woman in a horror film
00:29or in a sci-fi film beforehand, I
00:31think she intentionally went another direction.
00:34And so then stepping into the franchise,
00:37I never felt that pressure of being a certain way
00:42because I think she really did a lot of the work
00:45and I could just sort of be myself.
00:47So it didn't feel, it felt, I wouldn't say easy.
00:52There's a lot of pressure going on,
00:53but I felt sort of comfortable in that place.
00:56Have you gotten a chance to talk to her?

01:27So I feel like Kaylee is also very smart in real life.
01:30So when you see her character make really good decisions,
01:34or she disagrees.
01:35I spent more time with her, so I feel like I know.
01:37But she just makes really smart decisions in the movie
01:40and it's more believable because Kaylee herself is a very
01:42intelligent individual.
01:43And I think that's what's really cool about the movies, too,
01:45is the odds are against them, but their intelligence usually
01:47allows them to persevere and overcome the other creature.
