Make up artist wears latex ear on her neck - as a fashion accessory

Meet the woman who wears a third ear on her neck - as a fashion accessory.

Paige Cole, 26, began sporting the unusual body modification earlier this year.

Paige, who worked on major productions like Bridgerton and Doctor Who Christmas special, says the extra appendage is a way to express herself.

Paige, a special effects make up artist from South London, said: "I have always liked incorporating fashion with special effects and getting body art involved.

"The idea just came to me after being inspired by an Australian artist who had an ear surgically implanted on his forearm.

"I also just think it's a cool body modification.

"I use it as a way to express myself and I enjoy having it on."

The ear itself is made out of silicon, the material most widely used for skin prosthetics.

Paige said: "Silicon can mimic skin and body movement really well.

"Pretty much all the human prosthetics I use are silicon.

"It blends in so well with the skin because it also has an element of translucency.

"When you watch a TV show or movie you might not notice someone is wearing a prosthetic.

Paige doesn't require a special occasion to wear the ear, but instead sees it as another accessory to add as she sees fit.

She said: "It's just like an earring or a necklace to me that I will choose to wear if it goes with the look.

"The application of the ear can just take a couple minutes and the more I do it.

"The quicker I am."

Paige often goes out in public with the ear on to film videos on public transport and in busy central London.

She said: "It's so weird it takes people such a long time to notice.

"I can be talking to someone for a while and they won't have noticed.

"I think it's a bit of a London thing. we just tend to keep to ourselves.

"Whenever people do notice though, it's very funny because I usually catch them completely off guard.

"The main point of special effects makeup is to be realistic so when people believe a pig nose or swollen eye is real, I love it.

"I take it as a massive compliment whenever that happens because it's just a testament to my skills."

00:00Don't let my third ear distract you from the fact that my nose is not real, let me show
00:04you how I put it on every single day.
00:07Since I'm not going out today and I don't want to waste a nose, since I'm going to be
00:10inside, I'm just going to use this prosthetic piece that's a little bit damaged, but it's
00:14still going to be great for this tutorial anyways.
00:16I'm applying barrier cream to my skin to protect it.
00:20Now that my skin's prepped, I'm going to take my silicone adhesive and I'm going to apply
00:23it on my nose and on my prosthetic piece and I'm going to flip it inside out and then
00:29put it on my nose, that is the easiest way for me.
00:33As this prosthetic is alcohol based, I'm going to use IPA to melt off the flashing and really
00:37blend out the edges too.
00:39This is what my nose is looking like right now, it's looking blended, okay, but we're
00:44not just done yet.
00:45Now I'm going to add some prosthetic cream just to really camouflage that hard edge around
00:51my nose to really blend into my skin.
00:53I'm just dipping the Pros-Aide all over and please let it dry clear.
00:58Once that's dried clear, I'm going to use my RCMA powder just to remove all that tackiness
01:03from the Pros-Aide.
01:04Using my Kryolan spray to remove the powder and also seal my prosthetic.
01:07Okay everyone, this is the finished look, my nose is all painted and blended.
01:14I bet some of you guys didn't realise my nose was not real and I know you guys are going
01:20to be in the comments like, oh my gosh, what?
01:24Yes, my nose is not real, but anyway you guys, thank you so much for watching!
