00:00But we are clear-eyed. As we work to build a brighter future and to move our nation forward,
00:08there are those who are really trying to take us backward.
00:13And you, I'm sure, have seen their agenda. Project 2025.
00:22Randy, can you believe they put that thing in writing?
00:24900 pages in writing!
00:32So Project 2025 is a plan to return America to a dark past.
00:40Donald Trump and his extreme allies want to take our nation back to failed,
00:46trickle-down economic policies. Back to union busting.
00:56Back to tax breaks for billionaires.
01:01Donald Trump and his allies want to cut Medicare and Social Security.
01:07To stop student loan forgiveness for teachers and other public servants.
01:11And, I say to AFT, they even want to eliminate the Department of Education.
01:22And end Head Start.
01:26Which, of course, would take away preschool from hundreds of thousands of our children.
01:32He intends to give tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations
01:36and make working families foot the bill.
01:39And he intends to end the Affordable Care Act.
01:42Now, think about that. To take us back to a time when insurance companies
01:46had the power to deny people with pre-existing conditions.
01:50Remember what that was like?
01:52Children with asthma. Women who survived breast cancer.
01:56Grandparents with diabetes.
02:00You know, America has tried these failed economic policies before.
02:05But we are not going back.
02:08We are not going back.
02:17No, we will move forward.
02:21And one of the best ways to keep our nation moving forward is to give workers a voice.
02:28To protect the freedom to organize.
02:31To defend the freedom to collectively bargain.
02:37To end union busting.
02:46As head of the White House Labor Task Force, I have led our work to eliminate
02:50barriers to organizing in both public and private sectors, including for teachers.
02:55But there is more that we must do.
02:58President Joe Biden and I promised to sign the PRO Act into law.
03:02And I promise you I will keep that promise.
03:11Because when workers join together and demand what is fair, everyone is better off.
