00:00Meanwhile, let's update on the relief operations of DSWD to our countrymen who are affected by the bad weather.
00:06We will talk to DSWD spokesperson, Asek Irene Dumlao.
00:11Good morning and welcome to Balitang Hali. This is Connie Sison.
00:14Good morning, Connie. Good morning to all who are watching this program.
00:19Yes, Asek. How are we here in the relief operation efforts of DSWD?
00:26Are there areas that we haven't been able to help yet or have we already covered all of them?
00:32Well, Ma'am Connie, we are still sending family food packs and non-food items to the affected areas,
00:40particularly to NCR, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, and also to Mimaropa.
00:49As we speak, Ma'am Connie, more than 600,000 family food packs have been prepositioned to LGUs.
00:58Some have already been picked up by the LGUs. Some are ongoing delivery.
01:04In terms of, if we have reached the month, yes, all requests of LGUs have been given.
01:13As I said, there are ongoing transport of goods from our National Resource Operations Center to local government units.
01:24But since the other day, Ma'am Connie, we have coordinated with the local government units,
01:32the DRM Focals and the CSWDOs just to ensure a seamless, efficient distribution of goods, Ma'am Connie.
01:40As for your monitoring, what are the areas that most need your help?
01:48Well, of course, aside from the National Capital Region,
01:51one of the areas that we are focusing on is Central Luzon, particularly in Bulacan and Bataan
01:57because we have also been reported by evacuation centers to evacuate to their homes because of the flood in their area.
02:07Many have also declared a state of calamity in their areas.
02:12My question is, is there any additional help that the DSWD will provide?
02:18Because we are still in the response phase, most of what we are delivering are family food packs and non-food items
02:27just to meet the needs of our affected countrymen.
02:32But the rapid damage assessment and needs analysis of the DSWD-QRD is ongoing in coordination with the LGUs.
02:41In this manner, Connie, we will look at the situation on the ground.
02:46Is it possible for us to infuse additional interventions such as cash for work if it needs to be cleaned in their community
02:53or other interventions under the assistance to individuals in crisis situation.
02:58This is what we will look at as we enter the recovery phase but it is very important that we are conducting the ARDANA
03:06so that we can know what additional assistance may be extended.
03:10Yes, always in coordination, of course, with the local government or provincial government.
03:15As I mentioned earlier, are there any reminders from the DSWD to groups or individuals
03:24who are initiating a feeding program or who are collecting donations for those in need?
03:31Well, Ma'am Connie, the coordination with the local government units is very critical
03:37in case you want to provide additional assistance in their area.
03:42On the part of the DSWD, you may get in touch with us to help us
03:49considering that we already have a call for volunteers for repacking of our family food box
03:56in the National Resource Operations Center in Chapel Road, Pasay.
03:59So if you are interested or your group is interested, kindly proceed to NROC in Pasay City.
04:04That's at Chapel Road so that we can orient our personnel.
04:08For donations, you may also get in touch with the DSWD through our official communication platforms.
04:14Okay, so the DSWD has websites for your numbers as well.
04:19Thank you very much, Ma'am.
04:21And that was DSWD Spokesperson Asek Irene Dumlao.
