00:00Tomorrow, opening ceremonies of the Olympics in Paris.
00:04We're less than 24 hours away.
00:05Less than 24 hours away.
00:06And Celine Dion is getting ready.
00:10She went to her hotel after rehearsing until very late
00:14last night at 1.30 in the morning.
00:16And she got quite the welcome when she got back there.
00:18I mean, this is the most heartwarming thing.
00:22If you're the International Olympic Committee,
00:25this is the subplot that you had prayed for
00:29and actually paid for.
00:31Paid dearly for.
00:32Paid dearly for.
00:34And you are loving it.
00:35This is a story that is going to make everyone
00:37tune in at the start of the Olympics,
00:39which is what they want.
00:40So we told you, we broke the story
00:42that she was going to perform.
00:44It turns out she's going to do one song with Lady Gaga,
00:47a French song.
00:48Mm-hmm.
00:49A very famous French song.
00:49Very famous.
00:50It was in a Sars-Borne book.
00:51It was, La Vie en Rose.
00:53And by Edith Piaf.
00:55Oh, look at you.
00:55Someone's been doing his research.
00:57No, I knew.
00:58I know who Edith Piaf is.
00:59Give me a break.
01:00All right.
01:00So anywho, so she's going to perform, was rehearsing.
01:05Obviously, you know, she is suffering
01:08from a very serious neurological disorder
01:11called stiff person syndrome, which
01:13has been debilitating for her and also affected
01:16her voice in a very big way, something she talks
01:19about in the documentary.
01:21But we broke a story yesterday, a big story.
01:25Yeah, that the Olympics, just the start.
01:28Because the next thing Celine Dion is working toward
01:30is a residency, a new residency in Las Vegas.
01:34And this will, from what we're hearing,
01:37the plan is they hope to have this in place
01:39to start at the end of this year.
01:42Or the beginning of next.
01:43And it is going to happen.
01:44They are in the very, very final stages of negotiating this.
01:48At a place that needs Celine Dion,
01:51and that is Resorts World, is one of the newer
01:54resorts in Las Vegas.
01:56They have our colors.
01:57They do.
01:58Actually, I stayed there once.
01:59And I thought that as I was laying out by the pool.
02:00I was like, oh yeah, red and black.
02:02You know, and I was probably working,
02:03and you were laying by the pool.
02:04Oh my gosh.
02:07I'm surprised at this, by the way,
02:08that they're struggling, because they had Katy Perry.
02:11They had Katy Perry.
02:12So they originally wanted Celine Dion when
02:14they opened back in 2021.
02:17Oh, right, right, right.
02:18That was going to happen.
02:19She was going to have a new residency there.
02:21However, that's when she really took
02:23ill with stiff person syndrome and ended up
02:26not being able to go through with that.
02:29And then they brought in Katy Perry.
02:31And she was there for a while.
02:32And now Carrie Underwood is there.
02:34She leaves in late November.
02:36And so the door is open for Celine
02:39to either start this in late, late, late, probably
02:43December or early January.
02:45But they are, this is going to happen.
02:47Yeah, and by the way, you guys, this is something we're told.
02:49She really wanted herself.
02:51And if you remember in the documentary,
02:52she vowed that she was going to return to the stage.
02:54How thankful she is to her fans.
02:56She said that she's always wanted to be a singer.
02:59And it's because of the fans that she's
03:00been able to be so successful.
03:03So it makes sense that she wants to do anything she
03:05can to reconnect with her fans.
03:07And if you guys remember, the first residency
03:09that she had in Vegas was like the highest grossing residency
03:12in Vegas of all time.
03:14So people are definitely loyal to her.
03:16They'll continue to come see her.
03:18And I think people will understand
03:20because the stiff person syndrome, it doesn't go away.
03:24She's going to continue living with this disease.
03:27So you've got to wonder how is it
03:29going to be when she is trying to have a scheduled residency
03:33where she has scheduled shows.
03:35And what happens if one day she has a bad day, you know?
03:39And then you have to reschedule the show.
03:41But her fans are very aware about what she's going through.
03:44And I think she made that very clear in her documentary.
03:47She was very just open about her day-to-day struggles.
03:51So I think people will be understanding.
03:53But you hope it's not your show that gets canceled.
03:56I talked to sources in the middle of all of this.
03:58They said this is all her decision, that she,
04:02it's not anybody pushing her.
04:03She wants to go on stage.
04:05She acknowledges that she has this disease, this disorder,
04:10that has really affected her voice.
04:14But we don't know what her plan B is in the event it flares up.
04:19But she is absolutely determined to do this.
04:22We do not know, by the way, how long the residency will go.
04:26Residency could be anywhere from months to years.
04:28Or it could be a couple of weeks.
04:30But they're still working all that out.
04:32She will be in Vegas.
04:33It's a big deal.
04:35Dasher, Washington, DC.
04:37I am so happy for Celine.
04:39Based on that documentary, she has definitely been through it.
04:42And so, you know, the fact that she's getting back up there
04:46and doing this, it's extremely admirable.
04:48In the eternal words of Wendy Williams, she is an icon.
04:51She is a legend.
04:52She is the moment.
04:53And she has nothing to prove at this point.
04:55But we're here for you, Celine.
04:56And from me to you, bon chance.
04:58Ah, bon chance.
04:59I'm excited to see the opening ceremony for this.
05:02Yeah.
05:02I really am.
05:03Yeah.
