00:00Welcome to Combate Global, Bienvenidos a Combate Global, esta noche traemos un show muy especial,
00:08tonight we bring a very special show and we start the night off with a ladies bow, empezamos
00:13la noche con un duelo entre damas, but the question is, are you ready?
00:19Are you ready?
01:19dos victorias, tonight she enters the jaula undefeated as a pro with two victories, from
01:24Puebla, Mexico, fighting out of San Jose, California, Janet Garcia, introducing the
01:39red corner, en la esquina roja, wearing red, vestida de rojo, su peso oficial 105 libras,
01:45she took the scale at 104 pounds, con un record profesional de cinco victorias y dos derrotas,
01:51the pro record, five victories and two losses, from Gava, España, Andrea Cali Menezes, el
02:04referee Christopher Mignocchi, vamos, vamos, ok, cuida de todo el tiempo, escúchame todo
02:11el tiempo, si quiere tocar guantes, toca, buena suerte a los dos.
02:17And here we have it, Janet Garcia, representing the United States, taking on Spain's Andrea
02:22Menezes, both ladies returning to la jaula, should be a fun, exciting fight, Alex, between
02:28these two, we primarily predict a lot of striking, however, Menezes did tell me that she's been
02:35at the Goat Shed Academy training, putting in her work, she says, this is a must win
02:40because of all the sacrifices that I've done for this fight.
02:43Yeah, and she's coming in with a lot of confidence, she's a more experienced fighter, when it
02:47comes to MMA, but Janet Garcia is undefeated, she has over 25 fights as a Muay Thai fighter,
02:54so she's ready to let things fly, and also show off some of that grappling skill, but
02:59these two are really going to look to prove a point, when it comes to their striking.
03:02Yeah, Janet Garcia getting very emotional during the fight week interviews, when asked
03:09what does MMA mean to you, just started bawling, she came to the United States from Mexico
03:15with her mom and dad and sister, and said that what MMA gave her is a family, she had
03:20a big family in Mexico, and MMA gave it to her here in the United States, and rightfully
03:26so, she even met her husband because of this sport, and talking about the ground game,
03:29Alex, we're doing some ground and pound action very early on.
03:32Yeah, Janet is great at reversing times in the clinch, so now she's working some top
03:38position on top of Andrea, and she is a purple belt, working over there at AKA in San Jose,
03:45which is known for their striking obviously, but their Jiu Jitsu program is top tier as
03:50well, and like you mentioned, her husband, her head Jiu Jitsu coach, so you always have
03:55a constant partner that you're able to work that ground game with.
03:57When you mention AKA, you can't just not mention the Daniel Cormier's that came to Alaska,
04:03so many champions came out of that camp, last time we saw Janet Garcia was last year, very
04:11early, oh sorry, yeah, no, it was last year, in December, beating Katie Perez, she said
04:16that that's how she found out that she belongs in MMA, because she took on a full rounded
04:19fighter, and here we go with the action, great knee from Garcia, Alex, great trip right there.
04:25Yes, she does a great job on the break, look at the flexibility of Andrea though, she's
04:30looking to wrestle her way up, but Janet is really strong in that front headlock game,
04:35looking to isolate an arm and then flip this position here, but again, I just love the
04:39knee she throws, you can tell her Muay Thai background really shows out in these moments.
04:43Beautifully executed, and what's even more mind boggling is she hasn't put too much time
04:50as a mixed martial artist, but you would not know that, she's definitely has fit in real
04:55quite well in the world of mixed martial arts, putting in all that extra craft, and mixing
05:00it up, and a great recipe to say the least, as for Manesis, she's been putting in that
05:04work in wrestling, which is all about over here in Go Jet Academy.
05:08Yeah, definitely getting the work with Coach Awesome over there at Go Jet, one of the training
05:14that he goes through, nice ground and pound, is from the Danaher Death Squad, so you know
05:20that the lineage of grappling that they get there in Go Jet is really great, and wow,
05:25bloodied up already.
05:26It's a pool of blood, I'm not sure, maybe it was because of the knee, we couldn't quite
05:30see it, I didn't think it hit the nose, I think it's coming from the nose, from this
05:34angle.
05:35Manesis is definitely some savage stuff coming from Yanette, who used to watch anime, like
05:41Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, which was her biggest motivation to even start combat sports.
05:47She said she would go home after school, watch that, and say, I want to do that, but in real
05:50life.
05:51So she begged her family to let her do it in reverse here, but she is able to get the
05:56scramble and get the best of it, just awesome control from the Muay Thai specialist.
06:00You can see that she's been putting in that work, trying to get away from the whole one
06:04dimensional aspect, she's become that full mixed martial artist, able to work in all
06:10levels, whether it be on the ground or on the top, so trying to see where this blood
06:14is coming from, if it's from the forehead, or from the nose.
06:17It looks like it's from the top of her head, yeah, I can't see it from that angle, but
06:24she is definitely busted open very early on in this first round, I don't think it is causing
06:30any issues as far as her vision, so it shouldn't be an issue for Andrea Menezes to continue
06:36on with this fight.
06:38Great work using the cage to her advantage, really pushing her up, and now the back exposure
06:42is there, we'll see if Yanet is able to capitalize here, but maybe she'll be satisfied just getting
06:48those knees in, short knees, and also some ground and pound against the cage.
06:53As for Menezes, she's coming off a defeat against Kayla Orocho back in December by unanimous
06:59decision.
07:00The thing she learned from that fight, Alex, was I needed to work on some of those details
07:06to become that good fighter that I am.
07:09Yeah, and she was definitely not feeling this type of power in that fight, Kayla Orocho
07:14kind of beat her down with the volume, but this is pure power right here, she's going
07:19to be looking close, but luckily there's only 7 seconds left in this round for her, so she'll
07:23be able to kind of get things together between rounds.
07:26Beautiful knees, right in that quad area, ham area.
07:30She survives the first round, great performance by Yanet.
07:34Like that T-band area, when you get kneed in that section, Alex, it hurts like heck.
07:42For those tuning in on Fuse, welcome, bienvenidos, this is Combate Global, the ladies opening
07:48up the fight card, Andrea Menezes taking on Yanet Garcia, Alex.
07:52Yeah, look at these highlights.
07:55Wow, when Andrea Menezes is stuck on her back, she wasn't able to capitalize on anything
08:00from the closed guard, but there, an awesome, awesome throw, but it ends up getting reversed
08:06by Yanet, so just an all-around dominant performance from Yanet Garcia.
08:10I'm trying to find out what that cut, I'm not at the top of the head.
08:14Yeah, that looks like something's going on with the scalp area, because her, her fangs
08:20are so wet, but I'm not sure that's with all sweat, so.
08:25Yeah, don't see it coming from the nose, or from the eyes area, the bone cheek, nothing
08:30like that, it seems more from the scalp, I'm not quite sure how that happened.
08:35She's definitely got that dog in her, I think this is one of the first times that she's
08:38really been bloodied up to that extent, but sometimes once it starts going, the blood
08:43just keeps rushing out.
08:44That gives you a rush, Alex, when you see that blood, that means you go to war.
08:50So it'll be interesting to see if Andrea can get anything going, striking a distance, you
08:54know, you really don't want to get into these clinching exchanges with a guy, with a girl
08:59that is super strong with the Muay Thai knees, clinches, elbows, so it'll be interesting
09:04to see if we can see some in and out movement from the karateka, Andrea Meneses.
09:09She has to definitely put in and test herself out, all that work she's been doing, those
09:13sacrifices to see if she goes to the ground and battles it out, but Yanet Garcia has had
09:18an answer for her.
09:20I love the flow that Yanet is in right now, she's just bouncing back and forth.
09:25And here in Combate Global we do have her open scoring, rightfully so, all judges giving
09:29it to Garcia that first chapter of this bout.
09:33Yeah, Yanet's got to feel pretty good going into this second round, really able to pick
09:39her opponent apart at distance, and then when they do get into those grappling exchanges,
09:44the knees are there, the takedowns, the reversals, everything seems to be going in the way of
09:48Yanet so far.
09:50And our women here in Combate Global always bring it, last time around we saw them, we
09:55had an off women's fight card, phenomenal action we had from our ladies.
10:00Oh yeah, the women always bring much more action, and the Adam Weid division is a division
10:07that you don't see in a lot of other promotions, why?
10:10I have no idea.
10:11You gotta go to Asia for that, we never, yeah, it's a, not much of it like you said
10:15here in the United States Alex, but here in Combate Global we give you some Adam Weid
10:19action.
10:20It was definitely a knee that happened, I think straight to the scalp that cut her open,
10:24because Yanet has been letting those fly and she actually just threw another knee, probably
10:27to the same spot, so Andrea's really gonna have to make sure she doesn't put her head
10:34down in those exchanges and try to keep her posture up.
10:38That is the key here for this.
10:40And those knees to the ribcage, oh those are gonna add up.
10:43Well it's striking here for Garcia on .38 out of 47, Manessa's 9 to 22, not much coming
10:50out of the spain, this is real time stats right here as you're seeing it live and in
10:55color on your screen, the accuracy there 17 to 29 for Garcia, just beautiful there, she
11:00positions that head Alex, and tries to, look at the, positioning that knee and the top
11:07of the head Alex, how obnoxious is that Alex?
11:10Yeah she's a small girl but she probably weighs, feels like she weighs a ton the way she's
11:15using her body placement, the knee to the back of the head, that is something I haven't
11:20seen inside La Hala so far, but really just able to grind Andrea down, it's probably not
11:26feeling too great for Andrea at this point.
11:28I must say, very impressive work from Garcia, showing that she's just not all Muay Thai,
11:34but she is a full mix martial artist.
11:38And could you believe that this Muay Thai background all started from a 30 day Groupon
11:43to go to AKA kickboxing, I mean talk about fate, you just see a coupon and then you fall
11:48in love with a sport and become an absolute beast.
11:51I did not get that notification Alex, because if I would have got that I would have jumped
11:55on that Groupon let me tell you.
11:57We gotta get the deals for all of it.
12:02Very short elbows, really starting to weigh down, dude we could get a finish in this fight.
12:06I know it's not super common to get finishes in Adam Weitz, but man, Yanette is packing
12:11that power right now.
12:13And that's one thing she stated during the week here in her interviews, she says I want
12:18to go home with either a submission or TKO victory or KO victory, I want that in my resume.
12:24I'm sure she had a laundry list as far as KOs in her Muay Thai resume, but as a mixed
12:31martial artist she wants that one herself.
12:35Training out there, I'm sure the folks of AKA are watching this fight very closely,
12:39her teammates supporting her of course, Alex that's very, very nice.
12:44Enséñame más.
12:47And you gotta know that Yanette has the absolute best personality outside La Jaula, if you
12:51go to her Instagram, her TikTok, she's always creating the funniest content, it doesn't
12:56seem like she'd be the sweetest person here.
12:58Mignocchi stepping in, he just gave her a heads up, a warning, he says you gotta show
13:02me more, and that's stopped.
13:05Well, Yanette Garcia gets a TKO win against André Meneses.
13:11She wanted that KO victory, she got it, Mignocchi stepped in just a few seconds before giving
13:16the heads up, show me more, rightfully so, stepped in to fight, this one is another victory
13:24for Garcia, remains undefeated, 3-N CUSAG, we'll be back with the official results here
13:31on Fuse.
15:24And now for the result, Beatriz Cález.
15:554 minutes and 20 seconds of round number two, and the winner by technical knockout, la ganadora
16:03por knockout técnico, YANETTE GARCIA!
16:11Yanette Garcia at another victory to her MMA record, walking out very proudly, and el jefe
16:20Campbell McLaren is inside La Jaula, that only means one thing Alex.
16:23He's a fan.
16:25Representing Puebla, Mexico, and also San Jose, she is absolutely ecstatic to have gotten
16:31it done in that fashion, and man, she was really just beaten down in every point of
16:36the fight, and I think that was the gash that could have really bloodied her up, it was
16:40one of those knees straight to the scalp, and then straight to another takedown, Chris
16:44Mignocchi saw enough, and Yanette Garcia gets it done in the second round by TKO, her first
16:51finish of her professional career.
16:54It's not a horror movie you just saw, it's called Mucho Más Acción Inside La Jaula,
16:59a victory for Garcia, as we see the stats, 53 out of 78 for the punches, 7 out of 18,
17:08you can definitely see the discrepancy there, the difference between the two, the kicks,
17:12the 6 over 9, and the accuracy, 59, just amazing stuff, the effectiveness, close to 60.
