00:08Someone also used a stick to stab a dog.

00:16This morning, several residents of Barangay Katipunan, Quezon City,

00:20were shocked when they saw a raft of people in their area.

00:24These residents made a raft,

00:27and attached it to a refrigerator while pulling their other companion.

00:31Pieces of wood were used to make this rescue boat,

00:35which crashed into another resident.

00:38The barangay said that yesterday and earlier this morning,

00:41they were still talking to the residents to evacuate,

00:44but no one listened.

00:46They did not expect that this would happen.

00:49There are many people down there who could not be rescued

00:53because the current of the water is almost reaching the river.

00:58The other families are still there.

01:02It's 2.30 p.m. and the rain is still heavy here in Quezon City,

01:06particularly here in Barangay Katipunan.

01:08We can see the water from the river coming out of a house.

01:13According to the barangay, it is still very difficult to rescue

01:17because until now, there are still residents trapped

01:21in their houses near the river.

01:24Aside from the boats, they also need rescuers

01:27in places where the current is strong.

01:30We reached a woman who is waiting for her husband and son to return,

01:34who tried to rescue their relative in Mangga Street.

01:40My husband, my son, and my brother.

01:43My brother's wife.

01:45What happened?

01:47They were trapped near the river, near Mangga Street.

01:51We were also waiting for someone to rescue them.

01:53I contacted them. They said they were in Bubong.

01:56Next to Barangay Katipunan is the San Juan River that is flooding.

02:00Next to Barangay San Antonio, a resident used a boat

02:03to rescue this woman and a dog.

02:06The cars that were parked are also submerged,

02:08but one of them was even chased away by the residents.

02:12Next to Barangay Paraiso, houses are also submerged.

02:15Rescuers in the river also rescued a dog.
