Olympic bread served up in Paris boulangerie
One of Paris’ famed boulangeries is getting in the Olympic spirit with a special bread with the images of the Olympic Rings and the words ‘Paris 2024’ baked right into the crust.
The owner and creator of the Du Pain et des Idees bakery that is selling the Olympic bread, Christophe Vasseur, said it isn’t about driving sales, but more just to bring a bit of joy to customers with the kickoff to the Summer Games just days away.
The writing on the bread is not the only thing Olympic about Vasseur’s ‘pain des amis’ which features the unique print.
The full bread tips the scales at a whopping 7 kilograms (15.4 pounds) before it is sliced into blocks and sold by weight.
