In the Takhatpur police station area of Chhattisgarh, goons stormed into an SBI branch and violently attacked the manager and assistant manager while other employees looked on.

The Takhatpur police have arrested those responsible for the assault on the bank employees. Following the incident, which occurred around noon on July 22, 2024, the bank employees ceased work and sought refuge at the police station. Based on the complaint filed by Ankit Bhushan Lal, the branch manager of the State Bank of India in Takhatpur, the police registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The accused, all inebriated at the time of the attack, have been identified and arrested. They are:

1. Benis Bhardwaj, 25, son of Raghav Bhardwaj, resident of Dandgaon, Patharia police station, Mungeli district
2. Labham Tonde, 25, son of Krishna Kumar Tonde, resident of Dandgaon, Patharia police station, Mungeli district
3. Vikash Bhardwaj, 23, son of Raghav Bhardwaj, resident of Dandgaon, Patharia police station, Mungeli district

The incident began when the loan holder, Labham Tonde, and his companions, Vikas and Benis Bhardwaj, entered the bank and demanded information about their loan from the area officer, Prem Prakash Jaiswal. When Jaiswal could not provide the information immediately, the trio, in their drunken state, began using obscene language, issuing death threats, and assaulting the bank staff. The police have taken swift action, arresting the accused and continuing their investigation.
