00:00Hello, everyone. This is Crafty Mom. This is kind of a different video for me. We're
00:17going to do something different. With your food making, you try to budget your groceries
00:26for different things. You can stay in a budget with groceries going up. I recommend you look
00:32to find where you're, if you have a Kroger, your weekly specials area. You can get lots
00:39of good stuff that way. Here is a jar of, let's see, this is a 46 ounce jar of apple
00:48sauce that, because it has a dent and the label here is ripped, I got for $1.93. These,
00:59which are the CrossCop Cisco, they're the short, the butter shortening sticks. I saw
01:07these in the store one day last week and thought, oh my goodness, they're now $8.99 a package.
01:15I got a bunch for $3.99 and just put them in my pantry and I've slowly been going through
01:21them. Also, here's a can of Dole pineapple tidbits. This is a 20 ounce can that I got
01:32for $1.12. All of these are things when you start looking, you can find, you never know
01:41what you're going to find. One day I found, these are the 16 ounce, I think, jars of peanut
01:47butter from Peter Pan, which is what we use at our house all the time, for $1.20 a jar.
01:52Here is a Kentucky bourbon barbecue sauce, something that I thought might be neat to
01:59try, but I didn't want to pay full price for. I got this for $1.39. Non-stick Reynolds
02:11wrap, this is a 50 square feet, paid $2.09 for it. All of these, here's a Newman's Own
02:19brown cinnamon, got it for $0.50. Jet puffed marshmallows, $0.76 for a 10 ounce bag. These
02:35are something that's not going to go bad. These bowls, I got a square container like
02:42this, but these are really cool. I found this one for $4.20. You put your berries in the basket
02:50and you rinse them and then you can just set it back down into the base and the water will
02:57continue to drain and then you can just dump it out. These are normally $9.00, got it for $4.20.
03:09I don't know if we've done any video of the garden in the last year or two, but we have a lot of
03:18strawberry plants and so it's nice to be able to watch them this way and letting them drain.
03:23Here's freeze-dried garlic. We use an awful lot of garlic at my house. I got this for $2.15 a
03:34jar. It kind of just depends on your preference of what you like to cook with. Here's a Duncan
03:40Hines cake mix. This box has been beat up and I got it for $0.88. If you like to have a sweet,
03:53but don't really want to do a lot of baking in general, I found these. I thought this one might
04:03be neat. Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinna-Dust Cookie Mix. I think, I can't remember what it said,
04:12makes 18 cookies, but yet again, on sale for $0.67. Occasionally, you'll find, you know,
04:22here's a package of Sharpies. They're just the metallic colors for $2.60. I have found in the
04:32past 20-ounce containers of cherries. Let's see here how easily, I should have thought to bring
04:39this over here. Sorry, I know I left the camera there. Okay, let's see. I don't even want to see
04:45this. But, let's see. I'm trying to get the top off yet, because some of this has already been
04:54eaten. Yesterday, I took two cans of the cherry pie filling that I found at the store for $1.60 a
05:01can. It was the Duncan Hines Cherries. All I do to make this, this is a sure, easy, easy way to make
05:09a cobbler without having to do all the fussy stuff and make the batter and do everything. Dumped two
05:17cans of the cherry pie filling in there. Dumped the cake, a yellow butter golden, just like this,
05:23on top of. And then, I got frozen sticks of margarine out of my freezer and grated them
05:33and sprinkled it over the top. Put it in the oven for 350. And when it starts browning on the top
05:39and you have your cherries bubbling up, you know, it's ready to go. So then, this is a nice way to
05:45have a treat, where you didn't have to pay an arm and a leg for your cherries to do this. So, I'm all
05:54about, I don't have any, of course, labels currently. I always check what they call the manager's
06:02specials, to go see if they have any of the reduced stickers like this on it. I have found
06:13I Around, I Around Roast. I have found Lars Lean Ground Beef for as low as $1.99 a package of the
06:2492-93% fat. Sometimes it's the 99% fat, or not the 99% fat, but the 99 to 1 or the 92 to 8. So,
06:37little low, low, low amounts of fat in your ground beef, and I do not like fat in my food. I find it
06:45just, I can't do it. So, I try to find where I'm at, and of course, if you find meat like that,
06:52you really should. If it's reduced, you know, it needs to be eaten or frozen. So, I usually take
06:57them out of their containers from the grocery store and put them in Ziploc bags. The Lars Lean
07:08Ground Beef comes in a pound package. So, I take it out of there, put it in a quart bag, zip it,
07:15pound it down until it's flat. Here, let's see. I'm leaving the camera here. Let's see if I have
07:21one in the house, because it's cold outside. Um, yeah, here's one. And so, then I just smish it,
07:32smash it, get the air out until it's a nice flat package. Same thing I do with other things. You
07:41smash it and seal it, put it in your freezer, let it freeze flat, and that way they stack better.
07:48But, these are all of, well, either foods that we have gotten on sale through the reduced at
08:01Kroger. Don't usually find a whole lot at Target. We used to, but I don't find much of any of that
08:10anymore. Um, Walmart, you may find, there's more of like the day-past-or-whatever bakery goods,
08:21but not usually packaging of this kind. But, we're gonna stop our video here, and we will see you
08:28next time. Bye!
