00:00Cleveland at home today, minus 144 to start this second half against the San Diego Padres.
00:12Total is seven and a hook.
00:13What do you like in the land?
00:14Yeah, by the way, both of these pitchers are decent here.
00:17Now, some of the analytical numbers are showing better than their ERA, talking about Waldron
00:21here of the San Diego Padres.
00:22We'll get to him in a second, but the home team is going to have Bybee on the mound and
00:25quite frankly, a decent pitcher all the way through.
00:28ISO power number, slightly elevated, weighted on base percentage, about average.
00:31He does get touched up a bit by left-handed batters.
00:33If you take a look at the lineup tonight, Arise will be a lefty, Profar, Cronenworth,
00:38Merrill, and also Peralta, so you have a decent mix of guys in that lineup that have done
00:42fairly well against right-handed pitching over the last month.
00:44You flip it over to the other side and say, what's Waldron going to bring to the equation?
00:48I told you, ERA is a little bit high on the road, but his XFIP number certainly is manageable.
00:53If we're looking at just what happened over the past month in that last 125 batters, it
00:57looks like he could be got to.
00:58An ISO power number of 211 combined and a weighted on base percentage, which is average
01:02at 324.
01:03Now, Waldron is a right-handed pitcher.
01:05He doesn't struggle, per se, with left-handed batters, at least over the past 30 days, but
01:09he has struggled with right-handed batters to the tune of a 256 ISO and a weighted on
01:13base percentage of 437, so to be honest, here's what we're doing in this lineup.
01:18There's a lot of lefties out there, and rightfully so.
01:20Typically, right-handed pitcher, if you have the ability, through switch hitters and left-handed
01:23batters, you want to overpower that side of the plate, but to be honest, you really can
01:27attack Waldron from the right side as opposed to the left side, so you might be thinking
01:31to yourself, two decent lineups here coming in post-All-Star break at 7.5, I'll probably
01:35go over.
01:36This game, for me, is actually leaning towards more of an under than an over here.
