00:00Sustainability and Territory, a project to recharge aquifers in the Veroese, A2A in
00:19Piedmont, more than 160 million euros of economic value generated in 2023.
00:25In the headquarters of Confindustria Verona, Coca-Cola Hbc Italia and the consortium of Bonifica Veronese
00:30have announced a decennial collaboration aimed at the realization of a forest area
00:35of infiltration in the area of Alpo, in the province of Verona, to promote the water intake
00:40in aquifers. The project concerns an area of about 15,000 square meters of forested surface.
00:46The infiltration forest area is an area covered by trees, in which water is put, good water
00:53that would be lost by going to the sea, to fill the underground faulds, then store it
01:00for the moment of need, intercepting it and preventing it from being lost by going to the sea.
01:05Certified Gold by Water Alliance, the Nogara plant in the province of Verona has invested
01:10from 2013 to today more than 150 million euros in sustainability, with particular attention
01:16to the protection of the water resource.
01:18This project does something more than that, that does not directly impact on the plant,
01:24but on the water basin of the territory. The Nogara plant is the most important in Italy,
01:29but it is the largest in Europe in terms of production capacity, and basically we have focused
01:34on two areas, on the one hand the responsible use of water, on the other the packaging.
01:39We have worked for 100% recyclable packaging, produced in Nogara, we have worked to reduce
01:45the raw material, so let's say we have tried to minimize the impact on the environment
01:50of our activities.
01:51A concrete project close to the territory, which returns to the environment an indispensable resource
01:56such as water.
01:57It is a very balanced operation, precisely at the level of the territory, very tangible,
02:06visible and measurable. I always say that any improvement is visible when it is measurable,
02:15this is a concrete case.
02:17In addition to providing the entire loading strip of the fault of these infiltration areas,
02:21the consortium aims to extend the time frame in which the recharging is possible.
02:25And therefore to be able to make a derivation in the winter period, which is not allowed today,
02:30we will ask the possibility to do it in the region, to load the fault even in all that period
02:35in which the irrigation is not done, which still has an effect of recharging the fault,
02:41and therefore to start doing this route also during the winter period.
02:46It exceeds 160 million euros, the value distributed by A2A on the Piedmontese territory.
02:51The group has invested 17 million euros in infrastructure and plants for the ecological transition
02:56and has recovered over 100,000 tons of glass thanks to the ASTI system.
03:0073,500 tons of CO2 were avoided and more than 8,500 among students and teachers
03:06involved in the educational pathways to sustainability put on the ground by Life Company.
03:11These are just some of the data from the sixth territorial assessment of Piedmont presented by A2A.
03:17The sixth sustainability assessment confirms the importance of Piedmont in the panorama of our group,
03:25Piedmont is confirmed as the second Italian region for the presence of the A2A group.
03:31Today we bring very significant data, over 160 million euros is the value that the group has generated on the territory.
03:42A large part of these are linked to our supply chain,
03:47so to the orders that we have given over the year to the companies on the territory,
03:54a number that has increased by more than 58%.
03:58Piedmont is a region on which A2A wants to be present,
04:02it wants to be more and more present,
04:04so it will not fail its commitment in concrete terms, with initiatives and investments.
04:11The sustainability assessment underlines the positive impact of the group on the territory.
04:16The presence of the A2A group in Piedmont represents a fundamental asset
04:21in a very delicate moment of energy transition.
04:24We must open public administration in the form of a partnership with the private sector,
04:31as it happens in the services to the person,
04:34and it should also happen in services of economic relevance, important for the community like this.
