00:00Folks, we're here in Camla ahead of the big All-Ireland Final. Can you talk about the
00:04buzz that's around the county at the moment?
00:06Clash! Arm-off for Sam!
00:08He said it. I think that feeling's going right around the county. What about the atmosphere
00:12after the win over Kerry? It was just incredible.
00:14Absolutely fantastic. You know, you couldn't ask for anything better.
00:19Kerry was fantastic.
00:21You know, good.
00:23We've got eight people in front of us. I want every single one of you to tell me who's going
00:29to win the All-Ireland Final.
00:33Steve, can you put into words the buzz that's around Catalan, around South Armagh at the
00:38moment?
00:39It's brilliant, Ciarán. Unbelievable. I was lucky enough myself. I was probably 14 in
00:44the last one. Well, 2002, the last one we won. But it's just absolutely brilliant now.
00:49I've got two young ones myself now and it's just a special, special time for everybody.
00:55You see young, old, everybody here together and it's just created such a lovely atmosphere
00:59for the community. You know, everybody's travelling. You can see ones from school here, teaching
01:03local school. You can see ones from Drummond Tatey, Besbrook, Newtown. You know, they're
01:08all coming down to support and it's just brilliant.
01:11You know, from the Kerry game, getting over the line, the atmosphere in the stadium was
01:15just incredible. Could you put it into words?
01:17I think it took me probably about a day or two to actually calm down after it. The adrenaline
01:22coming home, it was just, you know, it was such a rollercoaster. I thought the game was
01:27getting away from us at half-time and then we thought we were going to win and then it
01:30was extra time and then I think penalties were in everybody's minds. But towards the
01:34end, it was just, there was only one winner. You know, the players just really took over.
01:39The fitness, you know, it was just unbelievable. The belief and I actually just think, you
01:44know, we just hammered Kerry into the ground at the end of it, you know, mentally and physically.
01:49Finally, I have to ask you, this is all the way now in two weeks, where do you think you're
01:52going to go?
01:54It's tough. There's a bit of a rivalry there over the last couple of years, you know, and
02:00I think both teams are very evenly matched. We've got some serious match winners on our
02:05team and they do too. I don't think there'll be any secrets. I think both teams know each
02:09other very, very well. You know, Galway's probably got a bit more experience getting
02:12beat two years ago, so it's just great to be there and it's a novelty for both counties.
02:18I am quietly hopeful and I think we'll do it, but it'll be very tight.
02:23Julian, can you put into words the buzz around the county and what you've seen here today
02:26in Galway?
02:27Yeah, it feels an awful lot like 2002 and I think the thing that's given me the best
02:31buzz is seeing the youngsters just, you know, huffing and huffing about the place, but a
02:36long time coming and great to see it back.
02:39You mentioned there are the children, they've never experienced this before, like, you know,
02:42it is really now this new generation. It's great for them, isn't it, to get to have an
02:46experience like this?
02:47It's brilliant. I noticed that down in Dublin on Saturday as well. I was getting flashbacks
02:51to 2002 myself as a youngster, seeing the wee ones coming out of football court, out
02:55of the sunroofs of cars, windows waving flags and so on. So, I think that is what it's all
02:59about. This is, you know, those of us that are older have memories of 2002 and now it's
03:04about creating those memories for a younger generation. So, plenty of support here and
03:08hopefully that carries them across the land.
03:11I think all over Ireland the Armagh plans are being praised, especially the atmosphere.
03:14Now, we've seen it for years with Armagh, but the atmosphere of that Kerry game was
03:17something special, wasn't it?
03:18It was unbelievable. It felt a bit like a festival or a carnival after the final whistle
03:21went and I think even the Kerry manager conceded that it was the fervour of the Armagh fans
03:25and maybe gave the boys a juice and the extra steam to keep going through extra time. But
03:29they did as proud. It's very, very easy to support them, like, you know, particularly
03:32on a weekend like the one that we just had. So, I have no doubt that the support is only
03:37going from here and I'm pleased God it'll carry them across the land.
03:40I have to ask you, it's Galway now and you're in a final. What way do you see that going?
03:44Well, I have invincible faith and confidence in Armagh. I think, you know, we were written
03:49up going into last weekend there as well. There's no mightier team to take out than
03:53the Kingdom and they've done that. I'm definitely not saying by any stretch of the imagination
03:57that Galway will be an easy match. It will be a clash of the titans, but I have every
04:02faith that Armagh will come out on top.
04:05Aaron, what county do you support?
04:06What?
04:07What county do you support?
04:08Armagh.
04:09Big Armagh fan. Did you watch the game against Kerry? How did you enjoy that?
04:13I loved it.
04:14And they've got Galway now in two weeks. Are they going to win?
04:17I hope so.
04:18You hope so?
04:19Great response.
