00:00The government did not listen to the right to our territory.
00:05This is despite the harassment from China in the West Philippine Sea.
00:11The details in the special report of Patrick de Jesus.
00:18Run! Run!
00:22Run! Run!
00:25The resupply mission near the BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal was tensioned on June 17
00:32by the Philippine Navy and China Coast Guard.
00:37The China Coast Guard, which was targeted by Palacol,
00:40opened the Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat or RIB of our Navy
00:45and took the weapons of the Filipino soldiers.
00:49Some RIBs of the Philippine Navy were torn and hit by CCGs.
00:54Because of the harassment of the China Coast Guard,
00:57one of the Filipino soldiers was cut by a knife.
01:02He is Seaman First Class Underwater Operator Jeffrey Facundo,
01:07a member of the Naval Special Operations Command.
01:10The incident is considered the most violent,
01:13that's why the AFP called the people of the China Coast Guard barbaric and pirates.
01:20We are demanding that the Chinese return our rifles and our equipment.
01:28And we are also demanding from them to pay for the damages that they have caused.
01:34They will pay for it just like the pirates who did their actions.
01:41This is not the only harassment of the Chinese in the West Philippine Sea.
01:54In March, the China Coast Guard ships helped to water cannon
01:59the civilian resupply vessel Unai Zamei
02:02to destroy its main ship and hit some of our troops.
02:12Let's go!
02:17Just two weeks after this, some soldiers were injured
02:21because of the water cannon of the CCG ships.
02:26In Kasagsaganang Rore, Patungong Ayungin Shoal,
02:29the last paratroop mission on May 19,
02:32was not forgiven by the China Coast Guard
02:34and some of the supplies were stolen for the Filipino soldiers.
02:39A medical evacuation was also arranged for one of the injured soldiers
02:43from BRP Sierra Madre.
02:58The water cannon of the China Coast Guard
03:01and the ships of BIFAR and the Philippine Coast Guard
03:04helped to carry out the humanitarian mission in April
03:07to the Mayans of Pinoy in Bajo de Macinlok or Panatag Shoal.
03:11Despite this, the government did not listen.
03:15Being an ordinary Filipino,
03:17he was one of those who fought for the rights of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea
03:22just like the organized civilian convoy of various groups in Bajo de Macinlok.
03:27President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. encouraged the country's remaining professionals
03:33to join the struggle of the Philippines
03:36for what is rightfully ours.
04:03It forces us to choose sides in a great power competition.
04:07No government that truly exists in the service of the people
04:12will invite danger or harm to lives and livelihood.
04:16And that is why, in defending the nation,
04:19we stay true to our Filipino nature
04:22that we would like to settle all these issues peacefully.
04:26But at the same time, we stand firm.
04:31Our calm and peaceful disposition should not be mistaken for acquiescence.
04:38History itself can tell that we have never,
04:42never in the history of the Philippines yielded to any foreign power.
04:50We owe to our forefathers the duty to keep the freedoms
04:54that they fought, bled and died for
04:58and that we presently enjoy.
05:00We will never bow down to anyone.
05:07In his visit to the IISS-Shangri-La Dialogue 2024 in Singapore last May,
05:13he emphasized in front of the international community
05:17that the imaginary line has no basis
05:21and is in accordance with international law
05:24the right of the nation in the West Philippine Sea.
05:28We have on our side the 1982 UNCLOS
05:31and the binding 2016 Arbitral Award
05:34which affirms what is ours by legal right.
05:38In this solid footing and through our clear moral ascendancy,
05:42we find the strength to do whatever it takes to protect our sovereign home
05:46through the last square inch to the last square millimeter.
05:51The life-giving waters of the West Philippine Sea
05:54flow in the blood of every Filipino.
05:57We cannot allow anyone to detach it from the totality of the maritime domain
06:02that renders our nation whole.
06:13As President, I have sworn to this solemn commitment
06:17from the very first day that I took office.
06:19I do not intend to yield.
06:21Filipinos do not yield.
06:24As a rising commander-in-chief,
06:26the President first instructed the military
06:29to prepare and deal with any external threats
06:34so that the modernization of the use and capability of our armed forces continues.
06:40Despite this, the approach to internal threats
06:45that the government continues to face is not neglected.
06:50One of the things that the Marcos Jr. Administration continued
06:53is the whole-of-government approach against insurgency
06:57through the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict or NTF-ELCA.
07:03According to the AFP,
07:05the number of guerrilla fronts has dropped to just seven
07:09from the previous 11 when President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. took office.
07:15In addition to the AFP,
07:17there is no longer a monitor of foreign terrorists in the country
07:20after the two leaders were neutralized
07:23while the local terrorist groups have been weakened.
07:27But the government will not give up here
07:31and will continue to guard.
