00:00This is Paul Jackson, Worshipful District Master, Guilford District Lodge No. 13.
00:07And Paul, you've been overseeing proceedings for the Twelfth here in Guilford this year.
00:12And you're telling me that the biggest feature and the biggest surprise of the Twelfth this year in Guilford is that it's dry.
00:18Can you explain why that is? Why is that a surprise?
00:21Well, I'm 60, as I said earlier on, so we haven't had a dry Twelfth in my memory.
00:26And a lot of the other visiting District Masters are all saying, you've got a dry one this year.
00:31So we're all pleased not to be having to clean the shoes and change the socks at this stage when we get into the field dry.
00:38Very good. And it's also a particular feature you're telling me of the Twelfth here that it's quite a short route and relatively flat.
00:46So that's quite attractive for some people, Paul, is that right?
00:49It's attractive for me when you have a bad knee. So it's a flat land, just less than the two mile hike.
00:56And there are a few in the district that we all go round and sit down at our hilly.
01:05And we have a nice flat one and a nice easy one.
01:08And there's a few gentlemen in sitting having a cup of tea there that appreciate that.
01:12And there's been a good turnout today, Paul. Many spectators came out.
01:15As Grace was telling us earlier on there, there was around about 8,000 on the ground at that stage early.
01:20So we're just having not too many numbers here now.
01:22But look, our car parks are full here at the field.
01:25And we're into the overspill car park at the far side of the road here in the Scarborough Road.
01:29So as a Worshipable District Master coming down the Scarborough Road there, it's nice to see the cars.
