Welfare, viceministro Bellucci: "Governo attento a tema demografico con riforma su terza età"

La demografia ci serve per intercettare il futuro, per poter governare i processi economici, sociali e, ovviamente, del lavoro. L'Italia è la prima nazione in Europa per numero di anziani, la seconda al mondo, con un tasso di natalità che scende sempre di più e quindi, ovviamente, abbiamo delle criticità che devono essere governate. Il governo Meloni sin dall'inizio ha dato priorità a questi aspetti varando la prima riforma in favore della terza età, una riforma che si aspettava da vent'anni”. Lo ha detto Maria Teresa Bellucci, viceministro del Lavoro e delle Politiche Sociali, intervenendo al nuovo appuntamento Adnkronos Q&A ‘La cura delle persone’, in occasione della Giornata mondiale della popolazione.

00:00What is the role of democracy in Italy?

00:04People are cared for by people,

00:06and above all, democratic aspects are fundamental.

00:09Democracy is needed to intercept the future,

00:13to be able to govern processes,

00:15economic processes, social processes,

00:17and, of course, labor processes.

00:19Italy is the first nation in Europe

00:21in terms of the number of elderly,

00:22and the second in the world.

00:23We have a birth rate that goes down more and more,

00:26400,000 children born,

00:29and, of course, we have criticisms that need to be governed,

00:32and the Meloni government, from the very beginning,

00:34has given priority to these aspects.

00:36We did it by considering the first reform

00:39in favor of the third age,

00:40a reform that had been expected for 20 years,

00:43to be able to deal with how to promote the quality of life

00:46of the elderly, the over 65,

00:48and accompany them for their entire existence,

00:51until death.

00:53Among other things, we also see that,

00:56thanks to the growth, from a point of view

00:58of the protection of health,

01:00we have a hope that is growing more and more.

01:02The hundreds have become 22,000,

01:04and, therefore, the reform also serves to be able

01:07to support welfare and assistance policies

01:10when we become more and more elderly,

01:13and health also begins to falter.

01:15But together we have also taken care of the policies

01:18to promote birth and family,

01:20and here, therefore, the laws of balance

01:22that have been followed,

01:24have provided important resources,

01:26but also initiatives to reconcile

01:28the times of life and work,

01:30especially as regards mothers,

01:32in such a way that there can be

01:34more children born

01:36in a national context

01:38in which we certainly have a demographic winter.

01:41So, demography is a priority,

01:43the political address that we have carried out

01:46in these almost two years

01:48has given substance to policies

01:50that deal with the elderly and families.

01:53We want to continue in this direction,

01:55abandoning merely assistance policies

01:58that transfer subsidies,

02:00but do not give hope,

02:02nor from a human rights point of view,

02:04nor even economic support,

02:06to ensure that every person

02:08can receive the help they have,

02:10but above all can be included

02:12from a social and working point of view.

02:15This generates value, this increases the GDP,

02:18this recognizes human rights for Italians,

02:21and therefore this is what we want to carry on.
