00:00The Supreme Court is now commenting on President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,
00:05Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, and the National Economic Development Authority, ONEDA,
00:10as well as the petition that questions the reduction of rice prices and other products.
00:18According to the Supreme Court Spokesperson, Attorney Camille Ting,
00:21they are being given 10 days to comment on the process of responding to the petition.
00:28In another message, the Office of the Solicitor General said that he is a legal representative of the government.
00:35They are still waiting for the official order of the Supreme Court, but for the government.
00:41The Executive Order of the President is still in effect
00:44because the High Court has not yet issued a Temporary Restraining Order for this.
00:50It should be noted that the petition was initiated by the Samahang Industriya ng Agrikultura or SINAG,
00:58Federation of Free Farmers, United Broiler Racers Association, and other agricultural groups,
01:05and they request that the Executive Order No. 62 issued by the President be declared unconstitutional.
01:14The Court, without giving due course to the petition and prayer for TRO,
01:18required the respondents to file their comments within a non-extendable period of 10 days from notice.
