Samsung Electronics Workers Launch Indefinite Strike Over Pay and Benefits Disputes

  • last month
The National Samsung Electronics Union, representing around 30,000 workers at Samsung Electronics, has called for an indefinite strike starting from July 10th due to disputes over pay and benefits. The union staged a three-day general strike this week and said management showed no intention of holding talks over worker demands. Samsung Electronics disputed claims the strike disrupted production, saying it will ensure no disruptions occur. Around 6,500 workers participated in the initial three-day strike, and the union is calling on more members to join the now indefinite industrial action.
