00:05and a half thousand members of the company's workers union have joined the
00:09strike demanding better pay and benefits. The union has roughly 30,000 members
00:14about one quarter of the firm's South Korean workforce. They originally planned
00:19to strike for three days but union leaders said management showed no
00:23intentions of holding talks. Samsung is the most valuable company in South
00:28Korea and the strike is the biggest in its history.
