00:00Congratulations on the residency here in L.A. for The Bloody Vegan.
00:05Tell me a little bit about how it came about.
00:07I was in my bedroom, and I'm like, I'm going to do a residency like how they do in Vegas.
00:11And the first one I'm going to do is in L.A.
00:13And I put this together in seven days.
00:16Wow.
00:17And here we are.
00:18We just knocked the line down.
00:19I was in the kitchen working, but we got a whole one-month residency happening in L.A.
00:24I'm excited about it.
00:25Everybody's coming out.
00:26It's star-studded.
00:27It's just amazing.
00:28I'm excited.
00:29It's been a pretty good turnout so far.
00:31Talk to me a little bit about the future of Slutty Vegan
00:34and how you would hope to see it expand from this point forward.
00:37World domination.
00:39We got 14 locations, and I plan on expanding and scaling and maybe one day franchising.
00:44But Slutty Vegan is the hottest concept in the country.
00:47Except for my husband.
00:49He got a hot concept.
00:50But it ain't no other hottest concept other than Slutty Vegan.
00:53So I'm going to just continue to open up locations, continue to scale.
00:56And then I might continue to do these residencies, depending on how the season is.
00:59There was recently a restaurant downtown Los Angeles that had some protesters,
01:04some vegan protesters, because it's a vegan restaurant,
01:06and they decided to add animal-based products to the menu.
01:09What is your take on that?
01:11Do you think that was wrong with the restaurant?
01:13That is a big no-no.
01:15Okay.
01:16You can't call yourself a vegan restaurant and then have stuff that's not vegan.
01:19The math ain't mathin', okay?
01:21They started selling beef, cheese, all different types of products.
01:24The math don't math.
01:25And, you know, you got to be mindful of people that aren't intentional about opening up vegan restaurants.
01:29I really did this because this is who I am.
01:31A lot of people are doing it for the dollar, and if it ain't working out for them,
01:33then they try to divert and go to the other thing that they're not even confident or passionate about.
01:39So I'm sticking.
01:40You'll never see beef or chicken as Slutty Vegan.
01:43Slutty Vegan will always be a vegan concept, and we're going to keep it that way.
