02:09Thank you. There's a lot of people to thank, of course. I'd like to thank the Returning
02:14Officer, everybody who has come here to count tonight. You've done a fantastic job. Everybody
02:21who's helped with my campaign, my fantastic campaign team. We've run a very long and difficult
02:28campaign, so it's been brilliant. And my agent, Jude. And also my son, who is here, who without
02:35whom I would not have been able to do any of this. I want to thank my fellow candidates.
02:42It's been a good and clean and fair race, I think. And the outgoing MP, Sherilyn McCrory,
02:49who's worked so hard for Truro and Falmouth. The voters have put their trust in me. People
02:57who haven't voted Labour before have put their trust in us. And I promise those who didn't
03:03vote for us and me that I will work for everyone in Truro and Falmouth as a voice for all of
03:10our community up in Westminster. Thank you for putting your trust in the Labour Party.
03:20Falmouth and Truro and Cornwall, indeed, have so much potential and so much to offer the
03:27rest of the country. We are a creative, innovative place and our vision of the green economy
03:34could be so important to the rest of the country. But there's also so much to do here.
03:40We have huge challenges. People have told me on the doorstep, and I know through a number
03:46of years of being a councillor, there are big issues with housing, with NHS, with dentistry,
03:52the cost of living, environment, our water and low wages. These are the things that you've
03:58told me that need fixing and what your priorities are. The scale of the challenges here are large.
04:06There are no magic wands. These things will take time. But as a Labour MP, as part of a
04:13Labour government, I can work to ensure that Truro and Falmouth and Cornwall will have a strong
04:20part to play in a bright future for our country. We've had enough of chaotic politics.
04:28It's now a time for serious government to deliver for and to serve the people that we represent
04:35and rebuild the country and Truro and Falmouth together.
04:40It's time to get on with the job that you sent me to Westminster to do. Thank you.
