00:00Good news to healthcare workers, especially those who sacrificed during the pandemic.
00:06The long-awaited emergency allowance will be paid.
00:12This is also in line with the order of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:16that our medical workers should finally wait for the so-called compensation.
00:22The details are in the words of Soojin Kim.
00:26The Department of Budget and Management will issue P27 billion to the Department of Health
00:33so that the remaining health emergency allowance claims of healthcare workers can be paid.
00:38This is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:43that the health insurance claims of medical workers should be paid.
00:47Our President gave instructions
00:50that we should pay this year our arrears for health emergency allowance.
00:58This is the promise of our President,
01:02in line with the order of last year.
01:04It was released yesterday, July 5.
01:08The DBM explained that the agency strived to provide
01:12what is appropriate for healthcare workers earlier.
01:15And with that,
01:17we are already processing it.
01:19And we will issue P27 billion arrears for HEA this Friday.
01:28So, we no longer owe money to our health emergency professionals and workers.
01:36That is why we are happy that we were able to give what is needed to be paid
01:43to our health workers who helped us during the pandemic.
01:48At present, more than P91 billion was issued by the DBM to the DOH
01:53for the Public Health Emergency Benefits and Allowances or FEBA.
01:57The Special Risk Allowance,
02:00the Compensation for COVID-19 Sickness and Death,
02:03and additional benefits such as meals, accommodation, and transportation allowance.
02:08Even barangay healthcare workers can receive it.
02:11According to House Deputy Majority Leader Janet Garin,
02:14who used to serve as DOH's secretary,
02:17this is a big help for health workers in the health sector.
02:22Well, we really love that.
02:24Because to be honest,
02:26there were a lot of promises of health allowances during the pandemic.
02:30It was all sweet talk.
02:32During the previous administration,
02:34that these are the benefits of health workers.
02:37But it was just words.
02:39Nothing actual.
02:40And that burden was passed on to the current administration.
02:44So, we love the President and Secretary Amina
02:48that they were able to provide a solution.
02:51House Deputy Minority Leader Franz Castro,
02:54called for a delay in the current allocation of the Health Emergency Allowance.
03:00Well, welcome to us.
03:02Release it because it's long overdue.
03:04This is still the time of the pandemic.
03:062020 to 2022.
03:08It's 2024 now.
03:10That's why it should be released with no delay.
03:14More than 5 million Validated Health Emergency Allowance
03:17and more than 4,000 COVID-19 Sickness and Death Compensation Claims
03:21are expected to be paid tomorrow.
