00:00The banking community wants to integrate more seamlessly with the rest of the world and secure a brighter future.

00:06With the Banco Central ng Pilipinas, or BSP, leading the way, the sector is confident in achieving such goals.

00:13Noel Talacay is at an event organized by the Central Bank and will update us live. Good evening, Noel.

00:18Earlier tonight, Charms, the highly anticipated annual reception of the country's banking community was held at the Banco Central ng Pilipinas compound in the city of Manila.

00:37Officials from different private and government banks in the country have gathered to participate in this year's reception for the banking community with the theme, Beyond Boundaries, Excellence in Motion.

00:52The event is spearheaded by the Banco Central ng Pilipinas, led by BSP Governor Eli Remolano Jr., and joined by members of the Monetary Board, former BSP Governors, the diplomatic community, and the government officials.

01:07The event aims to secure the future of the Philippine banking sector and its integration to the global economy.

01:14Governor Remolano Jr. highlighted last year's achievements of the BSP in his speech, including the introduction of polymer banknotes, the upgrade of the bank's credit rating outlet, the launch of the IRS Peso market, the expansion of the government repo market, the rollout of the financial services cyber resilience plan,

01:36the passing of the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act, and the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Central Bank of the Philippines.

01:46As we look ahead to 2025 and beyond, I am thrilled to continue working with you to build on our shared successes.

01:58Let us continue working together on digitalization and financial inclusion.

02:05Let's also intensify our efforts on open finance to ensure that people can choose the financial services that best suit their needs.

02:18Having worked with many of you over the years, I know that we share the same goals and we share the same drive to make the banking industry a stronger engine for jobs and growth for the Filipino people.
