00:00More than Php 1 million worth of unregistered products were confiscated by the Department of Trade and Industry in a warehouse in Bulacan, DTI.

00:10It is now up to DTI to possibly sell the alleged smugglers online.

00:21The Department of Trade and Industry or DTI invaded a warehouse compound in Plaridal, Bulacan yesterday.

00:27The compound was raided because of the consumer's complaint that the products are not licensed.

00:32There is no Philippine safety mark for the local products or import commodity clearance sticker for the imported products.

00:40According to DTI, the warehouses are managed by foreign nationals.

00:44These warehouses that were entered by FTEB under the Task Force Kalasag under the order of Sec. Fred Pascual,

00:51it turns out that they don't have a permit or a license.

00:56What does this mean if there is no safety mark?

00:59It means that it is not safe and it is not of good quality.

01:06More than Php 9.3 million worth of unregistered products were confiscated.

01:12It is possible to sell smugglers online at a cheaper price, but in exchange, they are accused of being unsafe.

01:57that has an obligation, not only the manufacturer, not only the importer, not only the distributor,

02:02but also the seller, you have an obligation that if you sell or offer to the public a product

02:10that is mandatorily, compulsorily, licensed and certified by the DTI, you have an obligation for that.

02:17If you do not have a certificate, license, or permission from the DTI, you have to fulfill that.

02:23So it is up to you.

02:25If you are a seller, you have to pursue your supplier.

02:28But for us, we are looking for the same or equivalent obligation to be a seller.

02:37No one was arrested in the raid because the owner himself was not involved in the discussion.

02:41The smugglers were taken away so that it is clear that they are not allowed to move.

02:46The DTI is calling on consumers to file a complaint with their consumer care department

02:51if the product they purchased came from illegal sales.
