Police hunt man who robbed three women in Sydney’s west

A major police hunt is underway for an armed man who robbed three women across Sydney’s northwest yesterday.

00:00It all started around four o'clock yesterday morning with police receiving several reports

00:06of a man trespassing at homes in North Mead.

00:10About an hour later, a white SUV was allegedly stolen from a service station in that same

00:15suburb while the 37-year-old owner was inside the store.

00:19Now about 10 minutes later, that same car approached a 47-year-old woman who was walking

00:25along Mons Road in North Mead.

00:28Police say a man, believed to be in his 20s, allegedly stole that woman's handbag before

00:34fleeing in that car.

00:37Now by 5.40 that same morning as well, it's alleged that that same man approached a 19-year-old

00:44woman on this street here in Toon Gabby and tried to steal her bag.

00:50This is where police allege that the man produced a knife before taking off with that woman's

00:56bag and in that same car again.

00:59This crime spree continues yet again.

01:03The next time that police received reports of this alleged offender was at a North Parramatta

01:07shopping centre when a 27-year-old woman was allegedly struck on the shoulder with a hammer.

01:15Her phone and her purse were then taken.

01:19Now two of her relatives tracked her phone to an intersection at North Rocks and a fight

01:24broke out between those two relatives and the alleged offender after he allegedly struck

01:30their car with a hammer.

01:33Now police have since seized the white SUV that was allegedly stolen before and all of

01:41those women involved in this ordeal, their injuries aren't serious so they are recovering

01:46at home.

01:47It's been well over 24 hours since this all unfolded and the riot squad, dog unit and

01:53police helicopter have so far failed to find this man.

01:58Police have told me that they are aiming to release footage of him so that they can get

02:04the public to help them.

02:06They do fear that he may re-offend and are also alleging that he is linked to other break

02:12and enters from two days before.

02:15Now as I mentioned he is believed to be in his 20s and the reports depict him in all

02:21black clothing including a black balaclava, gloves and shoes.

02:27And anyone that spots him today is urged not to approach him and instead contact 000.
