00:00Welcome back to AccuWeather Ahead. We're looking ahead to Thursday, specifically the 4th of July.
00:05A lot of big Independence Day festivities are planned.
00:08Let's take a look at the big picture here.
00:10And overall, we're going to have some warmth building back into Chicago and New York
00:14with scattered thunderstorms for many of us, and it will be really hot across the South.
00:1895s in Charlotte and Memphis, 101 in Dallas, 96 into Houston.
00:23At this time, Burl will still be down in the Caribbean,
00:26passing near the Cayman Islands and moving west-southwest to there as a still fierce storm.
00:32And we're going to be dealing with some warmth.
00:34The heat is going to be really stubborn in the southwest, the interior southwest,
00:38but even 83 there in San Francisco is warm enough.
00:42But here we have the thunderstorms that will be rumbling east,
00:44and this will be around 10 p.m. Central when some of the fireworks displays will be scheduled,
00:48again, maybe this time or an hour earlier than then,
00:52from western Illinois down into areas like Tulsa and Oklahoma City, down into the Permian Basin.
00:57That's a problem spot for thunderstorm potential.
01:00Some of these storms here in Missouri, northeast Oklahoma, eastern Kansas, eastern Nebraska, and Iowa
01:05will be severe with damaging wind and hail as well as some flash flood concerns here on Independence Day,
01:11so that's a bit of a spoiler for some.
01:14And we don't want additional rain up this way into the upper Midwest,
01:17but there will be some storms here too and into the Ohio Valley at times.
01:20Now, they'll be scattered, so there's always hope that you get a break in the action.
01:24High temperatures in Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, and Omaha all kind of round to around 80 degrees,
01:29but this is the storm zone during the day on Thursday.
01:32And the northeast, we had a great cooler start to the week, but the heat's going to be sneaking back up.
01:37The humidity begins to build.
01:39Some of the most disruptive storms on the 4th will be into the Ohio Valley,
01:42but some of these will also break out into the interior northeast.
01:45We're not exempt, though, for I-95.
01:47There is also a shot for some scattered storms around D.C. and New York, Philadelphia as well.
01:52And it's a hot time in the southeast with the humidity as well.
