00:18:53cause you're getting judged on stuff you haven't paid for and later you're all
00:18:59final week pressure all of a sudden I know that he's struggling he's sweaty

00:19:23on their way back to Jordan and Jacinta's house in Punchbowl for the
00:19:28final round of room allocations Hannah and Johnny Taylor and Ellie and Peter
00:19:34and Lara are gearing up for what will be the most crucial week yet going into
00:19:42this budget allocation I really do think we go for facade the facade might be the
00:19:48thing that gets us over the yellow line if we can nail it by the end of the week
00:19:53only the top three on the leaderboard will be given the opportunity of a
00:19:57lifetime to make over their own backyards for judging for sisters Taylor
00:20:04and Ellie last night's judging sent them into freefall I felt like I was in a
00:20:10stone quarry when they got the lowest scores out of everyone dropping them
00:20:14from first place into third and suddenly in very real danger of falling below
00:20:21that yellow line I think that the pressure this week is just like
00:20:27overwhelmingly intense this is the last cycle we've had a massive fall from
00:20:31grace we're just staying above that yellow line and I think what also adds
00:20:37to all of that pressure is that literally all three teams is trying to
00:20:43remain staying in the competition Hannah and Johnny gonna take the side cuz
00:20:46I've got first pick yep and then it's just up to us and Pete and Lara to fight
00:20:50it out I don't think Pete and Lara are gonna want to do bathroom for Peter and
00:20:55Lara it isn't that simple they're in second place but only three points above
00:21:00Taylor and Ellie and I need to make sure it stays that way this week out of all

00:22:15bathroom so because we got the short straw last cycle because I lost paper
00:22:22rock scissors this cycle yeah we'll never do that again go for it let's
00:22:26start we're gonna do the facade and entry hall we've done a front yard
00:22:31before in Queensland yeah super super confident with doing front yards now
00:22:37so that leaves Taylor and Ellie and Peter and Lara to fight it out between
00:22:44the upstairs living room and five-year-old Amelia's bedroom or two-year-old
00:22:49Olivia's bedroom and the main bathroom
00:22:54we know that Tay obviously has amazing skills when it comes to bathrooms and we
00:23:00think that we'll be able to give Jordan and Jacinta hopefully like a fantastic
00:23:04bathroom but it's clear that Lara and Peter see things a bit differently I
00:23:10know the bathrooms are Taylor and Ellie's forte they succeed in them and
00:23:16they do well in them I've only done one on suite I think we want to try and do a
00:23:23bathroom at this stage of the competition we need them to fail but
00:23:30having only just failed Taylor's Renault confidence has hit rock-bottom
00:23:47I just don't know I'm gonna go home and like not take anything home with me then

00:28:42something like that that's the time-consuming stuff there's more
00:28:45grounding you got to get them sealed we don't have time to change our mind we

00:29:32been their strength in this competition you know at the top of the stairs how

00:29:49we're terrified about the rooms that we have this week TV we have the upstairs
00:29:58living room and we have Amelia's bedroom we have never had good feedback on our

00:30:08ourselves literally all teams a threat to us at this point we just need to stay

00:30:24in the northern Sydney suburb of Belrose Lara and Peter's home is just one week

00:30:35and couples Brad and Mel peach pink and white Jordan and Jacinta and recently
00:30:49um maybe just a little bit out so it has a little bit of shape are already hard
00:30:54at it fighting for that dream backyard after all agreeing on their room

00:31:16the final room allocation for Lara and Peter's house has ended up with Jordan
00:31:21and Jacinta taking the facade and entry recent Liam are upstairs with the kids
00:31:27bathroom and ten-year-old Leo's bedroom while Brad and Mel are taking on the
00:31:32upstairs living room and seven-year-old Mia's bedroom I don't think we could
00:31:39have finished off this incredible journey any better than having an
00:31:45opportunity to do Lara and Peter's house so Brad and Mel want to go above and
00:31:49beyond for their good mates in Mia's bedroom and the upstairs living room
00:31:54bring that wall out pull the whole wall forward and Brad and I've never delivered
00:31:58a living space before that's all gonna be packed out but you know she's still
00:32:02gonna be in there okay there's a wall there that we want to do something with
00:32:05we know that the judges will say it was a missed opportunity if you did nothing
00:32:09on this wall we were thinking is it even possible to bring it out to the same

00:33:19traditionally score well they are taking a big gamble on choosing the entry what
00:33:24if we did like a mirror right that went from up here to the floor because they
00:33:31have been here before when they took on Liam's oversized entry the judges were
00:33:37less than enthusiastic you had so much room to do something great for a family
00:33:42I have to say I was somewhat underwhelmed that one judging it's
00:33:48absolutely ruined us no but it's not funny there's a leg here and there's a
00:33:52leg here so will a second shot at an entryway pay off we definitely already
00:33:58have ideas we know what we want to do how we want to execute it we're gonna
00:34:01smash facade we're gonna smash entry hallway and hopefully climb up that
00:34:05ladder and at the top of that ladder brothers recently and they're going all
00:34:10out to secure their top spots and a backyard if we can take out this win and
00:34:15win a hundred K we'll be super stoked and I think it's more of the fact the
00:34:18hundred K goes to race Liam I've worked it all out what we're gonna do he's my

00:37:02with only six days left to transform this once modest single-story house into
00:37:08a grand two-story home they're all driving their designs forward in the
00:37:13tight time frame but the question is can fourth-placed Hannah and Johnny create a
00:37:18facade in the next six days that lifts this home to fit the luxe bougie brief
00:37:23we need to absolutely strive for greatness and be really really smart
00:37:28with our design choices right because we need tens this week we have to get tens
00:37:37this week to get us over the yellow line
00:37:42for us I'm not too worried about the facade I think the facade is going to
00:37:47speak for itself what I'm worried about is more the entryway because that is
00:37:54where we have the potential to lose points and Hannah and Johnny are acutely
00:37:58aware of getting it right this time having lost points on Brad and Mel's
00:38:03entry hallway so it was a visual feast but I must admit by the end of that
00:38:08feast I felt a bit full for me the hallway was just way too much going on
00:38:14we're keeping the entry quite simple and quite minimal because last time we got
00:38:18roasted that we did too much the entry will seamlessly flow through from the
00:38:23facade and they're hoping to nail a flawless space that will impress the
00:38:27judges enough to give them tens and while it's a small area it also includes
00:38:32a void under the staircase I just can't not do something with underneath the
00:38:38stairs so I'm gonna put a door on it if the door is this big yeah 700 is that
00:38:48big enough to get in and out and on the outside we're gonna go for the high-end
00:38:53bougie Lux and I'm gonna put a bench seat against the wall this will be
00:38:57roughly the size of our bench seat so when you walk around the corner there'll
00:39:03be a curve into the area just making sure that the entryway is as amazing as
00:39:09the front facade so when you open the front door you're still hit with that
00:39:12amazingness also keen for some amazingness this week are Taylor and
00:39:18Ellie who opted to take five-year-old Amelia's bedroom and the upstairs living
00:39:23area where they have big plans for the TV wall so we'll have like the TV the
00:39:29big frame in the middle is actually going to be popping out of the wall and
00:39:33it's gonna mean that we can recess the TV into it and it also means that we can
00:39:39backlight LED so it's like a piece of art in itself but it's the wall directly
00:39:46opposite the TV or the lack of it that has them worried judging point of view

00:39:56it's where our judge space ends yeah I know the girls major concern is the
00:40:04staircase wall and how its styling will affect their room none of that is in our
00:40:08space no this wall is 100% gonna be treated like it's our space the
00:40:16staircase wall along with the staircase itself is a communal space importantly
00:40:21this space does not form part of the judges scoring so usually when it comes
00:40:26to a communal space like the stairs all of the jobs are shared so there's like
00:40:31the budget has to be managed then there's the picking of the lights the
00:40:34picking of the art and the painting of the space usually we each take jobs and
00:40:38that all happens but with so much on the line the girls want control over what is
00:40:43put on the upper section of the communal wall but I can't not style these zones
00:40:49that will impact our space the judges can't not see a wall so the question is
00:40:56how does a communal space become their personal space when it comes to group
00:41:01decisions and us getting something from it it's never gone our way I don't think
00:41:07anyone's gonna want to give us an extra space yeah to help us yeah no one's
00:41:12gonna want to do that this last build no one cares about any of that they purely
00:41:16just care about how it will disadvantage or advantage you and how it may
00:41:21disadvantage or advantage them as this is a group decision naturally Taylor and

00:51:17timelines so they need to have these tiles ordered within the next hour what's

00:57:47hard as this cycle is it is kind of nice knowing that our biggest competition is
00:57:52working right above us and that we can keep a close eye on them. So we just need

01:02:28massive like mental battle between wanting to deliver Jordan just since
01:02:34her something wicked but then also like desperately not wanting to fall below
01:02:41the line. And if they fall below that yellow line out of the top three they
01:02:47won't be getting their dream backyard with hopefully a pool. Maybe but don't
01:02:57hate me if we don't get it. Yep Lara and Peter's kids now know that if their
01:03:03parents make it through to the next round they will get what they've always
01:03:07dreamed of. If we were to able to top off this experience by giving our kids a
01:03:13backyard with a pool that we we've parented. We have like ticked the box of
01:03:19being the best parents in this world. For them it would just be the icing on the
01:03:25cake. So that's all we want. And we're down to the last cycle and we're in
01:03:30position like it's right there.
01:03:37It's no secret everyone is keen to get a backyard. But for Liam it's all about
01:03:43winning that $100,000 first prize for Reece.
01:03:49And while it's obviously taking its toll, he's got no plans of slowing down.
