00:00To be honest, I think it doesn't really matter who's in charge or whatever happens because no one gets it right anyway.
00:05And they need more funding to actually help the city and actually do things, and they don't want to.
00:10It doesn't matter where you go in the city, it's dreadful, especially around Handsworth, you know.
00:16Cost of living is a big one, and accommodation, housing for local people.
00:23I mean, where we're standing now, we've got properties that are empty.
00:29And it's a part of my job, it's very serious.
00:33We've got lots of families waiting to get a property, and Birmingham City Council can't help them out.
00:42And going to housing associations, they're all stressed with not being able to supply the type of accommodation that people want.
00:55I think they're going to do it on basic knowledge of the areas of where you live in.
01:01So people are going to grow towards the most person that's looking towards the less politics side of things at the moment,
01:08because that's what people are wanting, less politics.
01:11Well, I think that nobody's learnt anything since lockdown.
01:14The questions are, why is it that an event that was orchestrated in 2020,
01:20to teach the public to come together and be with one another,
01:25only to find that everybody's sort of separated and gone back to their old ways.
01:30It's really upsetting to see.
01:32There were so many good things that happened during lockdown,
01:34such as the police coming together with suspects, different races coming together.
01:40I've never seen anything like it. It was such a diverse and inclusive mix.
01:44Prioritising that above which box they're going to be ticking this year,
01:50is to ask themselves the question, why have we decided to plod on after such a big event and seem to have learnt nothing?
