18 charged after puppies taken from animal testing facility

00:00So time's about half past seven and the remainder of the people who have taken part in rescuing 16

00:07Beagle Puppies are at the front of MDR facility and for the past hour at least we've been trying to

00:15liaise with police, liaise with security, liaise with the site manager to try and guarantee safe

00:22spaces for the Beagles that have been taken in by the police. There's currently at least two

00:28Beagle Puppies inside of the police cars parked outside of the facility and because they are

00:35classed as property they can be legally returned and they will be killed. They can't be used for

00:40science, they will be classed as contaminated property and they serve no function to MDR or

00:46animal testing even though that's ineffective in itself anyway. So we've been asking,

00:52and trying our absolute best to secure safety for these Beagles and then hopefully this will happen

01:00and we have a sanctuary ready, we have a vet ready, we're ready on our side. All we need is

01:04confirmation from the site manager to just say that we can have these Beagles and let them live

01:09safely and that's us finished. I'm gonna have to stop because I can't see and the security guard is

01:17streaming in my eye so that's the current update and we'll keep you updated but we are

01:23trying our absolute best to make sure that the remainder of the Beagles are safe.
