00:27National Economic and Development Authority, or NEDA,
00:30and the Department of Trade and Industrial DTI for their assistance
00:34to pass an employment covenant.
00:37This is part of his visit to the second day of the 2024 National Employment Summit in Manila.
00:42According to President R. Marcos Jr., the document will be an important part
00:47of the 10-year work for the country plan that will do the estimated 3 million jobs.
00:52The covenant and the TPB plan will ensure the inter-agency and multi-partite approach
00:59to achieving our objectives for productive, remunerative, and decent employment generation.
01:06At the same time, the President called on the private sector to help the government
01:11to create decent and more jobs for Filipinos and to continue to improve the country's economy.
01:19They agreed to support the government's proposed incentives and reforms.

01:45President R. Marcos Jr. also urged workers to continue to improve their knowledge
01:50through digitalization and the development of artificial intelligence or AI.
01:55We in government will support this effort and provide that upskilling and reskilling
02:03as we are now referring to it so that we are competitive not only in the local job market
02:10but also in the international labor markets.
02:14The President hopes that through unity and cooperation, the country will be successful.
