00:00Uh, last night, uh, I had already mentioned, uh, before you sat down, uh, connect that
00:09he fell to the Lakers.
00:10And you talk about a team needing a guy that could hit a shot from the outside and open
00:14up that floor for everybody else, LeBron, uh, Reeves, and then they, you know, teams
00:20have to worry about AD, but now to have that guy, that pure stroke shooter who can hit
00:26from anywhere that he fell, people thought he was going sixth, that he fell to 17.
00:32All it did was cost him a lot of money, Mike, but, um, you know, he's going to make around
00:3818 million.
00:39He could have made, you know, 35 million, but he's going to be fine with his 18 million.
00:44But I know this, it doesn't matter how much money he makes because he can shoot.
00:49He could shoot no doubt about that.
00:51And yes, he'll be okay with the 18 million.
00:53And the one thing he'll also be able to do now is I think in the role and the team that
00:57he's going to, it's going to allow him Scotty, right?
01:01To make more money down the road because he's in a perfect spot playing there where if he
01:04could just make some shots, that's his job, right?
01:07That's really all he needs to do.
01:09He's got to be able to hit those threes.
01:10And if he could do that, he'll make his money down the road.
01:14Perfect spot.
01:15Lakers love these guys, right?
01:16Uh, that are in there and JJ Redick being the coach.
01:19Now you get connected.
01:20I was surprised that he fell kind of a JJ Redick type player, right?
01:24Sky a little bit bigger than Redick, obviously, but a lot bigger, a lot bigger than Redick.
01:28But in terms of how he can shoot, uh, cause you a little bit of a problem out there.
01:32I think that that's a really nice pick for the Lakers.
01:35And even Polinka said, and maybe we'll play it in a little while that they were surprised
01:40that a top 10 guy like him fell all the way.
01:42Everyone was surprised because, uh, they thought he was going sixth and he went 17 and you
01:49know, uh, who reminds me of Redick more is this kid Reed Shepherd that went to Houston
01:54at three.
01:55And a lot of people thought that he, uh, you know, perhaps could have been, you know, in
02:01that same ilk, it could have been Klingon at the three.
02:05A lot of people thought Klingon was going to go number one as well.
02:08So one, three, and then he ended up going, what, seven to Portland.
02:13But I think JJ Redick was more of a shooter like Reed Shepherd is just a pure outside
02:19stroke shooter, uh, coming off a screen, probably the purest shooter in the NCAA game last year.
02:27No doubt about it, but stunning a little bit for me that that little white boy went number
02:32three overall.
02:34So they obviously think that he can fill it up at a high level, but I'll tell you what,
02:39um, I think he's, uh, you know, a teeny guy and I'm not a fan of that.
02:45If I got a guy that can score like a connect can at six, six, almost six, seven, what he
02:52can do with a ball outside and drive and post up and body and dribble drive and bang.
03:00I mean, he can get to his spots and get to the 10 and get to the low block with his size.
03:06And that little kid Shepherd can't do any of that.
03:09He can't do any of that.
03:10No, he can't do any of that.
03:11You're right.
03:12That's not his game.
03:13He's just strictly shooting from downtown.
