00:00I work for a country university centre based in Griffith, and one thing that my centre
00:05manager always said to me was, apply, apply, apply, because so many scholarships go without
00:11being claimed.
00:12So I applied for a few and then I got the Wesley Blackhurst Scholarship for online students.
00:17When I started university, I had a really old laptop which I had from high school, so
00:25the first thing I did with the scholarship was I bought a new laptop and an iMac, which
00:31having the technology has just made my study so much more seamless.
00:36It lessens the financial burdens that students experience, especially in regional rural areas.
00:41Before I got the scholarship, I was working three jobs, so I've been able to call a job
00:47and so that's allowed me to spend more time focusing on my studies, especially as I'm
00:52coming into my final years, time is the most important resource that I guess I could have.
00:58Honestly, it has changed my life, my study life really, and I think it's such an important
01:07thing for students to know that they are supported, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
