00:00What the hell were you thinking?"
00:02Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're counting down our picks for beloved actors who were
00:05well-respected for their craft, until a scandal came to light that turned public opinion against
00:10them.
00:11I've heard about you.
00:12And you'll be caught soon, I know you will.
00:16James Corden
00:17At one point, James Corden was a respected actor and creator, with work on Gavin and
00:20Stacey in a league of their own.
00:22But when the Brit moved across the pond to take on The Late Late Show with James Corden...
00:25It wasn't long until he began falling foul of people.
00:33In 2022, Corden was accused of abusive behavior at the New York restaurant Balthazar when
00:37staff apparently made his wife's meal incorrectly.
00:40This earned the host a ban from the eatery, which was rescinded when Corden apologized.
00:44However, he then flip-flopped on his responsibility, causing the ban to be reinstated.
00:48I've been walking around thinking that I haven't done anything wrong.
00:51This incident also brought to light other alleged Corden incidents that further tarnished
00:56The restaurant manager and the server, they were lovely.
00:58They were lovely.
00:59They brought out four glasses of champagne as an apology.
01:02But we were like, that's not necessary.
01:03We don't need it.
01:04We'd had a great time.
01:05Even for me, it was too early to start drinking.
01:08Lea Michele
01:09Mr. Schuster, do you have any idea how ridiculous it is to give the lead solo in Sit Down You're
01:14Rockin' the Boat to a boy in a wheelchair?
01:16Whether she was releasing her own music or starring in Glee, Scream Queens, or popular
01:19stage productions, Lea Michele was lapping up nominations and awards all over the place.
01:24The sky really seemed the limit for her.
01:26But then 2020 happened.
01:27That year, Michele posted in support of the Black Lives Matter movement on social media.
01:31In response, several former Glee co-stars came forward to shine a light on her hypocrisy
01:35and terrible behavior behind the scenes.
01:37On top of microaggressions, Michele was accused of racist behavior and being rude to various
01:42people on set.
01:43I just got you on the cover of New York Magazine!
01:45In the background.
01:46You were practically glowing about it.
01:48That's because I accomplished something.
01:49It had nothing to do with you.
01:51No, see, it actually has everything to do with me.
01:54This included apparently calling background performers cockroaches.
01:57While Michele apologized, it was too late.
01:58You get great grades.
01:59You're a fantastic singer.
02:01Everybody hates me.
02:02Brands and fans left the actor in droves.
02:05Armie Hammer
02:06Is there any way to make this a fair fight?
02:09Jump out and swim.
02:11After roles in The Social Network, The Man from Uncle, and Call Me By Your Name, Armie
02:15Hammer appeared to be on the cusp of superstardom.
02:17So what do you do around here?
02:20Read books, transcribe music, swim at the river, go at it, mate.
02:27I don't know.
02:28That sounds fun.
02:30After all, he was cast as a lead in 2022's Death on the Nile.
02:33However, the publicity for that film was wrecked once the scandal about Hammer came out in
02:372021.
02:38That was naughty of me.
02:39Hello.
02:40I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty.
02:45The actor was accused of both physical and emotional abusive behavior with ex-partners.
02:50Film companies, fans, agencies, and brands dropped the actor all at once.
02:53Were you surprised when you saw what was going on with him?
02:56To be honest with you, I wasn't shocked because it was multi-generational, just awful behavior.
03:04He's pretty much vanished from the public eye since, but did go on to admit to being
03:07emotionally abusive in his relationships.
03:09We'll speak soon?
03:12Amber Heard
03:13We should turn back.
03:14We can still warn the surface, try to prepare them for what's coming.
03:19With the end of their marriage, the accusations of abuse, and the numerous court cases, neither
03:23party came out of this debacle looking especially favorable.
03:26However, it's safe to say Amber Heard was not the winner of the court of public opinion.
03:30She was accused of abusive behavior and having marital affairs.
03:33Social media was rife with people mocking the Aquaman performer and her legal team during
03:37the infamous 2022 defamation trial.
03:40The jury sided with Depp by awarding him $15 million, while Heard was awarded $2 million.
03:44Do you find that Mr. Depp has proven all the elements of defamation?
03:49Answer, yes.
03:51And this only made it worse for her.
03:52Afterwards, she moved to Spain to escape the scrutiny.
03:55However, the public condemnation returned during the release of 2023's Aquaman and the
03:59Lost Kingdom.
04:00I don't care what one thinks about me, or what judgments you want to make about what
04:05happened in the privacy of my own home and my marriage behind closed doors.
04:09Kevin Spacey
04:14After receiving two Oscar awards, Kevin Spacey ushered in the Netflix original era with his
04:25Golden Globe-winning role in House of Cards.
04:27I need somebody I can talk to.
04:29We're talking.
04:30Tell me what we're talking about.
04:32Every project he was on seemed to often become a critical hit.
04:35Then in 2017, actor Anthony Rapp accused Spacey of assaulting him when he was a teenager.
04:40Spacey made sexual advances toward him after a party when they were both on Broadway.
04:45Spacey's response didn't help when he claimed he didn't remember the encounter, apologized
04:49for it happening, and then came out as gay, which drew the ire of many.
04:53When the allegations came to light, Spacey was dropped by House of Cards.
04:56I've led a very long, very successful career avoiding this sort of intrigue with the press.
05:01I can't see any advantage in starting now.
05:03But is there any disadvantage?
05:04Yet he continued parodying his character in strange annual YouTube videos.
05:08The actor has faced several court cases with further allegations.
05:11However, they have ended in Spacey's favor.
05:13After that, my guess is you'll never hear from him again.
05:24Michael Richards
05:25I'm out.
05:28Due to his role as Kramer on Seinfeld, Michael Richards was awarded the Primetime Emmy for
05:32Outstanding Supporting Character in a Comedy Series on three occasions.
05:35Used to feeling good all the time, huh?
05:39Once the sitcom ended, he dabbled in TV a little while longer before focusing on his
05:43stand-up routine.
05:44In 2006, he was at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles, California, where it all came crumbling
05:48down.
05:49Richards was recorded going on a vile, slur-filled rant at hecklers.
05:52Afterward, he appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman to apologize.
05:56I'm really busted up over this, and I'm very, very sorry to those people in the audience,
06:04the blacks, the Hispanics, whites, everyone that was there that took the brunt of that
06:08anger and hate and rage.
06:12Suffice to say, this was not really the sort of apology people were looking for.
06:16Richards retired from stand-up and has rarely appeared in film and TV since.
06:20But no, no, I, I, I, I, I, I busted up after that event seven years ago.
06:27It broke me down.
06:28Ezra Miller
06:29I just need one more gig, and I'm going to pay for my own tuition.
06:31You can't.
06:32Like I always said I would.
06:33You cannot keep doing this to yourself.
06:34Okay, I really don't want to talk about this again.
06:37There probably isn't an actor who has had as many legal run-ins in such a short amount
06:40of time as Ezra Miller.
06:42After being cast in the Fantastic Beasts series and as The Flash in the DCEU, they became
06:47a household name.
06:59Then 2020 rolled around and a video surfaced of Miller attacking a woman at a bar in Iceland.
07:03This was unfortunately only the beginning.
07:05I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior.
07:10I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe, and productive
07:15stage in my life.
07:16They have been accused of harassing people, theft, assault, and grooming, among some other
07:20odd and heinous behavior.
07:22In January of 2023, Miller pleaded guilty to misdemeanor unlawful trespass.
07:27Roseanne Barr
07:28As the lead of Roseanne, actor and comedian Roseanne Barr played a vital role in turning
07:32the show's first run into a critical success, securing many awards along the way.
07:36What happened?
07:37I thought you were dead.
07:38I'm sleeping.
07:39Why does everybody always think I'm dead?
07:44In 2018, the show was revived after 20 years.
07:47However, not long after, Barr messed up massively.
07:49What did you find out about me?
07:51After several of her controversial comments came to light, Barr made a racist tweet about
07:55former political advisor Valerie Jarrett.
07:57While Barr apologized and tried to backtrack, it was too late.
08:00ABC pulled the plug on the show, saying Roseanne's Twitter statement is abhorrent, repugnant,
08:06and inconsistent with our values, and we've decided to cancel her show.
08:10Roseanne was canceled and replaced by The Conners, without Barr.
08:13I know Roseanne would want me to step in and watch over the family.
08:16No, it'd kill her.
08:19She has, despite all this, continued airing unpleasant thoughts and conspiracies, even
08:23doing controversial comedy routines.
08:25I try to be even more offensive.
08:28Danny Masterson
08:29Before 2017, if you were to ask fans who their favorite character on That 70s Show was, many
08:34would immediately say hi.
08:36You missed your shift at the photo hut.
08:38You better have a damn good excuse.
08:41I got busted.
08:42Nowadays, it's less so after what his actor did came to light.
08:46In 2017, several women filed sexual assault charges against the actor, who denied the
08:50accusations.
08:51One of them called the actor, quote, pathetic, disturbed, and completely violent, unquote.
08:57After a fourth allegation, however, Netflix fired Masterson, who was a producer and actor
09:01on The Ranch.
09:02He was also dropped by his talent agency.
09:04In 2023, at the retrial, he was found guilty on two of the three charges, with the remaining
09:08count resulting in a hung jury.
09:10Masterson was sentenced to 30 years to life in prison for his horrific crimes.

09:35Bill Cosby
09:36It's under control.
09:37So, no…
09:38No problem.
09:39Right.
09:40How do you expect to get into college with grades like this?
09:44No problem.
09:45Huh?
09:46See?
09:47I'm not going to college.
09:48Damn right.
09:49With the title of America's Dad, Bill Cosby was the biggest name in TV history, mostly
09:53known for his work on The Cosby Show.
09:55However, there were rumors that the actor was responsible for a host of grim crime.
09:59Yet, there was little traction to them.
10:01Hello, my dear.
10:04Mmm.
10:05Right.
10:06But that all changed in 2015, when more and more victims began to come forward and the
10:11media ran their stories.
10:12I never saw any drugs, but I would wake up completely confused.
10:19In 2018, after over a decade of accusations, Cosby was charged with three counts of assault
10:23and sentenced to three to ten years in jail.
10:26However, in 2021, Cosby's conviction was overturned after it was discovered that his
10:30due process rights had been violated.
10:32Regardless, this hasn't repaired Cosby's image, especially as he's faced civil cases for assault
10:36since.
10:37Who's in trouble now?
10:39Which actor has done the opposite of those in this video and gained more respect the
10:42longer they've been around?
10:43Let us know your opinions in the comments below.
10:46You're only doing this to me because I'm the lead of Funny Girl and you're just the lowly
10:50understudy.
