00:00There's a variety of things happening between Detroit and Dallas right now.
00:19First of all, Detroit hired Dennis Lindsay as their senior VP of basketball operations.
00:26This is somebody that I think we talked about on Monday and how it felt like he had brought
00:31something to the front office for sure.
00:33Nico made exceptional moves this year.
00:36How much of that do you think Lindsay had to do with that and how much of it was all
00:40Nico's mind?
00:41Because this did go under the radar for after it was announced for like, wow, true guy that
00:46put together the go bear and Donovan Mitchell things like we were very excited that he was
00:50an addition to the staff, but then it just kind of goes up by the wayside and you don't
00:54think about it because his name wasn't discussed that much and Nico gets all the glory along
00:58the way.
00:59So I am kind of curious what Nico learned, what or how much of it was Nico versus Lindsay
01:05being involved in being in his ear.
01:07I'm honestly not sure I'm interested by that question as well.
01:10And then you pivot over to Mark Stein on Twitter at the Stein line.
01:15He sent out a tweet yesterday.
01:16Detroit has emerged as a potential trade destination for Dallas's Tim Hardaway Jr.
01:21And he added a full potential trade construction has not yet emerged, but league sources say
01:26there have been scenarios discussed in which Quentin Grimes would land in Dallas.
01:32So and supposedly the Lakers are interested in Tim Hardaway Jr. as well.
01:37What would we think about the addition of Quentin Grimes?
01:41It'd be a nice addition off the bench.
01:42I think he can provide anywhere between 10 to 25 minutes a game based off of minutes.
01:49Yeah.
01:50He's a solid role play.
01:51All he is is a role player.
01:52He's a really good defender.
01:53Yeah.
01:54He's young.
01:55I'll tell you.
01:56I don't know.
01:57He's kind of he's different than Josh Green, but similar size, but he's not just green
02:03has more point guard skills.
02:05Josh Green also needs to lay off of the amphetamines before games.
02:09And Grimes doesn't have the amphetamine problem where you're like, you need to settle down,
02:15but he's also not as athletic as Josh Green too.
02:18So he's not going, but he's a solid, nice 24 year old player on a one year contract
02:22for $4.2 million.
02:24Really what this trade would be is you get Grimes, nice role player to use off the bench,
02:30and you would probably be able to keep Derrick Jones Jr.
02:32So it would be a trade of trading away Hardaway, maybe a couple of second round picks, and
02:37then you get Grimes and you're able to retain Derrick Jones Jr.
