நவீன அறுவை சிகிச்சையின் தந்தை ஜோசப் லிஸ்டரின் கதை | Story of Joseph Lister @TAMILFIRECHANNEL

00:00This is a story of a young girl who is in love with a man.
00:18I love you.
00:22I love you, too.
00:31Greetings.
00:33The fear of death is caused by prisoners facing death in prisons,
00:38or by those who are trapped in the clutches of terrorists.
00:43But do you know that up until about 130 years ago,
00:46the fear of death was caused by those who were sick and those who were diagnosed with cancer?
00:54Nowadays, even organ transplantation can be done in an ordinary way.
01:00But in those days, even those who needed an ordinary transplantation
01:04had to write a will before getting the transplant.
01:08The fear of death that we will die after the transplant has struck everyone.
01:13There is no reason for that.
01:16Fifty out of every 60 people diagnosed with cancer die in a few days,
01:21and this is a very common occurrence.
01:24It is now known to us that they all developed septic poisoning
01:30in the area where they were diagnosed with cancer,
01:34which led to the death of their entire body.
01:37At that time, the medical world, which did not know about it,
01:40did not know what to do.
01:42Many doctors said that there was no other way
01:45but to continue the treatment.
01:47Only one doctor wanted to prevent those deaths.
01:51He believed that he could prevent it.
01:54His determination and effort to save human lives
01:57is the duty of doctors, and his firm belief.
02:01He has been given the name and fame of the father of novel transplant.
02:07His name is Joseph Lister.
02:11Joseph Lister was born on April 5, 1727 in Essex, England.
02:18From an early age, he had the ability to see the pain of others.
02:24He grew up from an early age with the belief that
02:27even if he heard the stories of those who died of illness,
02:30he would sometimes see them in person and
02:33would want to be a doctor who would prescribe a treatment.
02:36He also dreamed of becoming a doctor who would not be an ordinary doctor,
02:39but a doctor who would be responsible for the lives of others.
02:44Like many historical heroes, his dream was also remembered by history.
02:50After completing his medical education,
02:52Lister was specially appointed to his favorite medical profession.
02:56At that time, he became an assistant to the famous
02:59medical doctor named James Simmey.
03:03Later, he married his daughter, Agnes.
03:07Agnes was a great force in his struggle to stop death.
03:14At the age of 30, he was appointed as a medical assistant
03:17to the Glasgow Medical School.
03:21His daily thought was how to reduce the mortality rate of
03:25medical patients.
03:28If a patient who underwent medical treatment dies,
03:32he thought it was his own failure.
03:35In the year 1865, the famous French researcher
03:39Louis Pasteur had the opportunity to study at the Institute of Research.
03:44Pasteur stated that there are living organisms in the air
03:48that absorb things, and that these organisms are
03:51the cause of the spread of poison in the wounds.
03:55In other words, the anti-inflammatory medicine
03:59or antiseptic medicine should be found.
04:05From then on, he worked hard to find the anti-inflammatory medicine.
04:10To clean the stains, he took a substance called
04:14creosote mixed with carbolic acid.
04:17He used that substance on a patient.
04:20The patient was devastated to die, Lister.
04:24But his wife, Agnes, continued to try and
04:28tried to stop him.
04:30After five months of failure, he wanted to use the same medicine again.
04:35A 11-year-old boy with a broken leg and a broken bone
04:39was admitted to the medical school.
04:42The boy told Lister that he would somehow save himself
04:46if he had to feed his mother and other children who lost their husbands.
04:52Lister bandaged the wound with a cloth soaked in carbolic acid.
04:57On the fourth day, when he opened the bandage,
05:00he was paralyzed.
05:02The wound did not heal.
05:04It began to recover.
05:06Lister was delighted.
05:08He proved that wounds can heal and prevent poisoning.
05:13The medical world was curious about this.
05:17But he did not expect praise.
05:20To save the lives of the patients,
05:23he continued his research and changes in the medical school.
05:27He used carbolic acid in the infirmary and in the ward
05:31and polluted the air.
05:33He said that the medicinal herbs should be sterilized.
05:37In the ward under his control,
05:39the death rate began to decrease.
05:42Even then, the medical world praised him.
05:47But those who survived him called him God.
05:51A few years later,
05:53he became a professor at the London King's College.
05:57Students there also did not stop praising him.
06:01Whenever they saw him, they were amazed.
06:05Some medical reports called him a liar.
06:09But the people of Sadhana do not have a sad history.
06:13In 1877,
06:15John Wood, a famous physician,
06:18was diagnosed with a rare disease.
06:21He was one of those who heard Lister's stories.
06:25Lister proved that he could do the treatment
06:29that he was diagnosed with.
06:32John Wood changed his mind.
06:35In the next five years,
06:37those two physicians together
06:40successfully conducted many scientific treatments.
06:44After accepting his treatment,
06:47Lister lived for 30 years.
06:50He was the first to receive the title
06:53Order of the Merit in medicine.
06:56Joseph Lister, who was a death threat to world patients,
07:01died on February 10, 1912 at the age of 85.
07:07Lister, who was a very religious man,
07:10did not care about social success or making money.
07:14His only desire was for mankind to prosper.
07:18The next time you go for a scientific treatment,
07:22do not forget to thank Joseph Lister.
07:25The efforts he made to give you responsibility,
07:29the courage to fight to the end
07:32to get what you deserve,
07:35if we cultivate those qualities,
07:38we will definitely get that sky.
