00:00Hello, I'm Digital Reporter Matthew for the Lancashire Post. I'm here in Kingsway in Ashton,
00:05Preston this afternoon where a woman was attacked by an exiled bully dog last night. The woman
00:11was taken to hospital with injuries to her chest and a leg and I believe she remains
00:15in hospital this afternoon. I've got a comment from Lancashire Police today confirming the
00:20attack and that an investigation is underway. So Lancashire Constabulary said they were
00:25called to Kingsway here in Ashton at 8.44pm to report a woman had been bitten by an exiled
00:31bully dog. Officers obviously attended and the exiled bully was seized and the woman
00:37as we say was taken to hospital. Our thoughts are with the woman, hopefully she's making
00:41a good recovery. Lancashire Police will obviously be investigating this incident. As we know
00:46exiled bully dogs were banned in the UK at the end of last year and it's now illegal
00:51to own an exiled bully. Those who do own exiled bullies do need to ensure they wear
00:57muzzles at all times in public. So obviously this is a matter for Lancashire Police now
01:02and we'll be bringing you updates hopefully tomorrow. We've contacted North West Ambulance
01:06Service for an update on the woman's condition and we'll be bringing you more information
01:11on the police investigation as well. Thank you.
